I read this bible study for a community group that I had joined. I honestly struggled with it as this wasnt the first time that I have went through the Beatitudes. The first time was last year through Right Now Media. So going back through it, with this book, was completely different which confused me some. I feel like there was a lot that wasn't explained and the consistency of the reading verses the questions was not consistent which was rough. I did however like that after the first few weeks, the last few weeks were more personal, thought provoking questions as that is what is truly going to get community groups talking more. Their experiences and how God saw them through it can be so helpful to those that are going through something similar and have little to no hope on a way through it. I appreciate the authors writing style though and would love to give another book of hers a chance to see if it is the right fit for me. I recommend this study bible book to those that are looking for a quick walk through of the Beatitudes and to those that want to understand some of the real life comparison to those events that happened in the bible.

Great, thought provoking deep dive into the Beatitudes and Lord's Prayer. Kennedy Dean has insight into so much more than a casual reading would garner. Always enjoy her reflections and depth of study she brings to the Bible and prayer.

I really gleaned some deep nuggets from Jennifer Dean's approach to the beatitudes. Overall the study seemed superficial, leaving it up to you to investigate and verify interpretations. It left me wanting more- which isn't a bad thing when studying the Word, but disappointing when you want to walk away from a study with a sense of accomplishment. If you are new to studying the Beatitudes or are seeking a fresh perspective this study may be just right for you. {She did reference another book of her hers, Living a Praying Life, which I purchased and look forward to walking through soon.}

Jennifer Kennedy Dean 19s Bible Study 1CSet Apart 1D is an eye-opening 6-week look into the Beatitudes. Although I haven 19t gone through the entire study at the time of the writing of this review, I feel confident in recommending it to individuals and groups for Bible study. I only previewed the study guide, and not the DVD or leader materials. But I was highly impressed with the depth of study that can be experienced at various levels from beginner to experienced Bible student. This is a beautiful study that will deepen your relationship with Christ.
