Have you ever wished you could just snap your fingers and your house would clean itself? Do yourself a favor. DON’T! I don’t think it’s bad to think it, but don’t ever say the words out loud. Ever. No, seriously. Don’t. I promise you will regret it. How do I know?Because I did. Jen's life takes a surprising turn when she discovers the teapot she bought for her four-year-old houses a genie named Leo who likes to grant wishes when least expected. Things go from bad to worse as the people closest to Jen discover the genie's powers. She soon begins to wonder if her life will ever go back to normal, and whether or not she really wants it to.A fun short story, Oh, Snap! will delight readers of all ages.
For as long as she can remember, Jessica L. Elliott has been telling stories. As soon as she could grasp a pencil she began writing those stories down. Reading fueled her imagination, as did spending time with her five younger brothers and sisters. Everything was an adventure, something to be treasured and stories were her first love. Jessica began seriously writing in high school and continued into college while attending Emporia State University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She wrote and released her first novel, Charming Academy, in August of 2011. Jessica currently lives in southwest Kansas with her husband and family.
This was a delightful short story and very original! I'll never look at genies the same way again, and I'll be paying closer attention to old teapots in thrift stores from now on. You just never know....
Recommended for anyone who wishes they had a little real magic in their lives.
If you could have 3 wishes, what would they be?? Be careful what you wish for...., they just might come true!!!!! Needing an escape from this crazy world?? Then you need to read Oh, Snap!!, By Jessica L. Elliott. What a fun, lighthearted book that had me laughing throughout the entire story. What would you do if you accidentally acquired a Genie, especially one who isn’t your “normal genie?” A total escape that will keep you laughing.
This was a quick, fun read! I was excited to find out how Laura and Leo met (I read How to Marry a Genie first, oops). So very sweet and I love that it teaches people to think before wishing.
