What a fabulous Book. It a type 2 chance story that will have you laughing one minute, your heart breaking the next and hoping beyond hope for a HEA. The author has written a storyline based on everyday, very relatable situations with characters that you can’t help but feel connected to.
Sephrina is a very strong independent woman. Have her world ripped from her years ago leaving her to raise her small son by herself, she has learned to be self sufficient and will never rely on a man to support her. But the path she took to get to this point hasn’t been an easy one. While going to school to get her law degree she started stripping in order to pay the bills. She is proud of the independence and strength stripping has given her as well as the money made has allowed her to give her son a stable life while growing up. Now her son, Jagger, is 18 and about to leave home and head off to college, leaving Seph to starting a new chapter in her life. One night, while out with friends, she meets Drew.
Drew is an ex football player who is also a recovering addict. One night he sees a woman on the dance floor who rocks his world at first glance. But Drew has a lot of past baggage and hangups. He used to women falling at his feet, something Seph doesn’t do. Drew wants to he with her, he knows in his heart she’s the one. But he can’t handle the fact other men she what he wants for his own. But Seph loves her dancing and refuses to change for anyone. Even though she knows in her heart Drew is the love of her life.
The storyline takes you on a wild journey where lifestyles are chaotic and kids and family issues are always popping up. Throw in a crazy ex husband with a new pregnant wife in the mix, money troubles, trust issues and a clashing of strong egos and you have the makings for a fun, flirty sexy read. I fell in love with Drew and Seph and all the supporting characters and I have no doubt you will too. I highly recommend grabbing up this amazing 5 Star Book. You won’t be sorry you did!
Stripped takes you on a journey of 2nd chance love with some drama to go with it. This is my first Jaime book and it was not what I expected.
Sephrina is a single mum that has done everything to protect her teenage son and give him everything he needs to succeed. When she meets Drew, he turns everything upside down and shakes up her life.
Both Sephrina and Drew have serious issues. Sephrina has been burnt and she has taken it upon herself to get back her power and in doing that she found her passion in stripping, she is fiercely independent but when it comes to Drew she cannot make her mind up at all. Drew has the bachelor life, he has woman and success in business.
Sephrina and Drew have unlimited amounts of chemistry that rates off the charts, but when their opinions are aired they are live wires and continue to push each other away time and time again.
Jaime did a good job at writing this book, the storyline gave the empowered woman vibe that made anyone feel that they can survive on their own.
Stripped is the 1st book in The Boss B chronicles, I personally felt frustrated throughout the book with the indecisiveness between the two characters, I felt as if I was watching an intense game of tennis. I felt that the characters individually were perfect but coming together their everyday connection was a volcano on the verge of eruption. I look forward to seeing where Jaime takes the Boss B chronicles.
Jaime Russell gives you an incredibly strong woman who knows who she is and won't take any shit from anyone. Sephrina rose from the broken woman she had become at the abusive hands of her ex to an empowered single mother who did what it took to provide for her son. She took pride in herself and refused to change for anyone - and she learned to never rely on a man for anything again.
Drew had his own battles to overcome from his past and had his own ideas about the kind of woman he wanted to have a future with.
Throughout the story, Jaime was able to give you glimpses into both Sephrina's and Drew's pasts and explain why they were the way they were. Without completely focusing on the negatives of their lives, you read instead about how they focused their pains into the strength that got them through their hard times.
Would two strong people find the love they both needed, and deserved, in each other? Or would their strong personalities be too much for them to find happiness?
The tale Jaime weaves is one you won't want to put down until you flip the last page.
I am so proud of Jaime for this story and I can't wait to see where she takes this series next.
When divorcee/struggling mother, Sephrina, goes for a night on the town, she isn't going to look for a man. No, she just wants to unwind and enjoy a night with her girls. A run in with a sexy stranger that leads to a bit of disappointment, has Sephrina running home, where she can relax and not worry about peoples judgements. But when she ends up running into Drew at her son's graduation, she realizes that maybe running isn't the best option. For Drew, he has never wanted to try with anyone before, always a hit and go type of guy. Something about Sephrina makes him want to be different, but finding out that she strips for extra money may just be the deal breaker for him. Can Drew get over the fact that Sephrina is her own woman, and will not just quit her job to make him more comfortable? Will Sephrina be able to trust Drew, or will the baggage from her ex be too great?
Soooooooooo….. this was ok. I found this to be an enjoyable book up to a certain point (about 60% mark), and after that point it took everything I had to even finish this book. I ended this book disenchanted with the couple that Drew and Sephrina were. Drew is a step up from her ex... but not by much IMO, which for me went against everything Sephrina was about. I gave this 3 stars for the promise this had.

I love a second chance romance story and Stripped was a perfect example of one! I have not read anything by this author before so it was great to read something from a new to me author. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, I thought that it was well written, the pace and flow were good, I liked the characters and found them to be both likeable and relatable. It really was a nice, easy to read book. I really felt for Sephrina, her world was completely rocked when her husband left and I could really feel the struggle that she faced. I really admired her strength and independence and that really shone through from her and the decisions that she made. Her son was her world and so she took whatever job she could find in order to make money. I think I was always going to love Drew, from the moment I read about him in the blurb for the story I just knew he would be one of those characters who you are instantly drawn to and I was right. I loved how he had turned his life around. The chemistry between the two characters, in all honesty was pretty hot! I was definitely rooting for the both of them! Overall a great read with two lovely characters and a few good twists and turns!
Stripped by Jaime Russell is a second chance story about two people struggling to make life work after it comes crashing down on each of them.
Sephrina Masterson thought she had it all, the life she wanted and the love she wanted. When that all fell apart she was left to struggle alone and raise her child the best she could. She needed no one, especially a man to rescue her.
Drew Rockwood, a man who also had it all. A promising career, money and girls. When that crashed and curbed he was left to come home to a small town and help take care of family. He wasn’t ever expecting a girl dancing in his bar would make him want to be better and to try and save her. Thing is that Sephrina didn’t need or want any saving.
This story had tons of funny moments and heartwarming parts. I was frustrated at time with the way these two and never thought they would ever get together. I did enjoy these two characters and the story and would recommend it for anyone who enjoys a strong, fierce women and a good hearted man.
One thing I have to say about this book, I wanted to reach thru my Kindle and throttle both Drew and Sephrina. They were both great people but I swear at times they acted like toddlers. I didn't think they would ever get their crap together. Jagger is such a Heartbreaker, Sasha is a sweetheart and they couldn't be more perfect. Sephrina is a strong independent woman and has a huge heart. Especially what she does for Sadie. I love the family unit they create, family isn't always blood and they prove it. I never realized how empowering stripping could be.
I swear there isn’t anything jaime cannot wrote about. This book just sucked me in and kept me there. I did tear up but there was so much more. Love, forgiveness, empowerment and family. Loved this book now I need more lol
Sephrina has been to hell and back and now she is fierce and independent. Drew wants her the moment he sees her but keeps messing it up. Drew has a bunch of issues he's gotta overcome to prove her can deal with all of Sephrina. Y'all she dont play she loves what she does and wants to keep it up and he better get on board. These two finally get it together but for awhile I seriously wondered.
Both our hero and heroine have had some back breaks and are gun shy about new relationships. But sometimes, when you find the right partner, it is worth bending a little to make things fit.
This is something of a second chance romance, not with each other, but with relationships in general. The story is well written and easy to read on the one hand. but some scenes are harder to get through than others. Our characters are well developed and seem real, up to and including their sometimes excessive stubbornness. They definitely had some issues to work through and it makes you doubt they will make it, so it was a bit angsty at times. Nevertheless, I did find it to be an enjoyable read and I would definitely read more from this author.

The story itself is great. Sepherina and Drew fighting to make a way for themselves, trying to understand the others' world. The chemistry between the 2 characters is undeniable and draws you in.
The only downside to the book is the storyline between drew and mark feels unresolved. There was a lot of lead up to the confrontation between them, but then it just stopped. And I wish there was a deeper explanation for why seph chooses her life the way it is. I get the whole strong and empowered thing, but it was hard to connect to that part of her. I wish the author would have done more to add emotion and help connect us more to her past story.
All in all, not bad. Like I said, the idea for the story was good and I enjoyed it.
Sephrina is a strong female now. She graduated law school from Harvard after finding her husband cheating and divorcing him. He has continued his ways and on his fifth wife. Their son is getting ready to graduate and has watched his mother provide for him and teach him how to respect and treat a woman. But to provide for her son she has had to strip from the beginning after the split since he left her with nothing but child support. When she finally decides to take a chance on a man that she is attracted to, he has issue with her stripping. The road to his acceptance is long and painful. The story is written with such that you actually feel their pain and their joy.

Sephrina was a divorced mother making a living for her and her son because she put her life of being a lawyer on hold when she was married. Now being a stripper paid their bills and she was really good at what she did. Drew was a washed up ball player and recovering addict trying to make his life better for the people in his life. He knew his life would never be the same the night he saw Sephrina. Their lives were interwoven in more ways than one and the struggles they faced to make a commitment were real. Good read

This story is so disappointing. The plot was looking good but more I read the book more I found it pointless. The characters and their storyline are not really credible.
