The Chases are rich, powerful, and used to getting everything they want. But this privileged African-American dynasty is about to discover that even billions can't buy happiness--or keep trouble outside their gilded gates. . . Carter Chase is engaged to be married, but he's still not over his ex-fiancée, Avery. And while Avery can't seem to resist Carter's charm in the bedroom, she's terrified by his threats to take their daughter away from her. After all, Avery knows she can't win a fight against the influential Chase family...
In the meantime, Carter's brother, Michael, is embroiled in his own drama, consumed with guilt over the pain he caused his now ex-wife Kimberly. Six months after granting her a divorce, Michael wants her back. But it may take a tragedy to reunite them. . .
The Chase men aren't the only ones struggling with matters of the heart. Oldest daughter Leigh thinks she's done with dating--until she meets black Republican senator Max Cody. The last thing Leigh wants is another high-profile affair, but she finds herself falling for Max anyway. Leigh vowed to avoid another scandal for her family--but when you're a Chase, that kind of promise is impossible to keep. . .

I wanted to like this book so much more than I actually did. On a positive note, it was written well grammatically which is a huge plus for me. I love when an author cares enough about his or her craft to make sure the grammar and punctuation errors are to a minimum.
Here are a few of the reasons I thought Gone Too Far was just okay. First, I felt like a big chunk of the book was spent rehashing events that happened in previous books. I knew this was part of a series but I didn't expect to be weighed down with SO much back story and character history. I didn't think it was necessary and it certainly didn't enhance the story.
Second, there was a lot of build up to drama but none really happened. Every time I thought something was about to occur, there was another chapter of rehashing things that took place in previous books. Also, it was really difficult for me to connect to the storyline because of the choppy way it was told. Instead of each chapter being devoted to a particular character or storyline, it changed from one paragraph to another and then back again. I felt as though I were being jerked all over the place and never became emotionally invested in the story or any of the characters.
A lot of detail was put into the back story but the things that were relevant to this book were glossed over. The last chapter was more like a summary of how everything worked out wonderfully without the reader being able to experience the growth of the characters. We were told they changed for the better without knowing how or why. I would've much rather read about that.

What a great series. I just loved all the characters, the good and bad in them,(my opinion) the dramatics throughout this series. But at the end of the day no matter how much money or lack of your family has, always will be the drama in each family. Key word FAMILY. No matter what family always comes first even as chaotic as the Chase family was throughout this series, in the end they all stuck together.
I absolutely loved this series. The only problem I had was that that did repeat things a little to much. I understand that it is to remind you of what happened in the previous book but they would go back several times. Overall great I loved It.
I know I am late reading this series but I just had to add my two cents....Just wanted to say that I areally enjoyed getting to know the Chase family...this was a really GOOD ending to the series......but I would LOVE to read a little more about Haley, Taylor and Sean will they find what they are looking for in life...maybe find some HAPPINESS together for Haley and Sean....I think they would make a GREAT couple once Haley grows up...Sean might be the only man that can handle her or maybe it will be the current man in her life...but anyways hoping to find out if there will be more.....Again a well done ending....
Hey there is still room for Haley to grow up...that would take at least more than a short story. Ijs. This book, I guess concludes the View Park series. It nicely tied up almost all of the loose ends....with Haley you never know. This story had all the drama, Asus poo sense and a love (many) that was just meant to weather the storms or kept them returning and finally made them just stay. you really should read the others to get the full story and tip yahoo hat to Ms Winters' for making you hate she didn't write them all at once. I had to wait for each, this is a re-read, need I say more? Recommend Read the series.
This was a great conclusion to the View Park Series. Angela Winters created a family that was scandalous, cut-throat, and full of drama. I could not stop reading about the Chase family. I had some sort of love for each one of the characters, even bratty Haley. After reading through the five books, you see some of the characters mature emotionally and some that learn more about themselves. This is a series that you want to start with Book One, but by the end, you will not be disappointed.
This was my first time reading any books by Angela Winters and I'm glad I found this series because it was so good! I couldn't get enough of the Chase family. I would love to see this series made into a tv miniseries. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
The good news is that this last book in the series wraps up the issues of the prior books. But, I do wish that this book had some of the drama and bang of the previous books.
Excellent. I was about to get mad until I realized that I had another book in this series. My favorite couple is Carter and Avery, and now Michael and Kimberly.
