When Matilda is found by Red Hawk, a Shoshone brave, after a harrowing experience that leaves her on the brink of death, her life is changed in many ways. Red Hawk believes the Great Spirit has guided him to her to save her life and make her his wife. When she has to confront the man who harmed her, Matilda is forced to escape by traveling back to her beginnings to try and put her life together again with the hope that her Shoshone brave can rescue her once again to make her life complete.
I forced myself through 40% of the book before I just couldn't continue reading! I am debating whether the initial rough draft was accidentally published or if perhaps a third grade student with potential wrote it. Aside from the grammar and spelling errors there's just no story here. It's as if the author skims over her thoughts for a good book. I felt like I was being talked down to. Example: "Come into the teepee (or lodge)."
The book is very well written. I did get a little bored when Red Cloud was whining to marry Matilda but it started to speed up and I wanted to jump into my tablet and smack Douglas a bunch of times and it had a very happy ending. This is the first time I have read anything by this author but I am looking forward to reading more by her she did her homework. A must read
It irked my soul that she lost her memory after discovering herself and a love like many others will go through life to never find.. the story was very good up until that point
Matilda was not treated right .Her father worked in the gold mines.Sold to Jack after father's death raped.Ran a way almost died but was saved by Red Haw the indian.A good book with a myster.Have to read to find out
Great story, had me hooked. This one isn't all rainbows guys. Some really bad things happen to Matilda before she finds her happiness. Anyway it's a great book.
Loved this book. Was getting angry that Douglas was taking advantage of her. I was praying that it would be Red Hawk's baby in the end, and it was. Lovely read
