This book is a combination of several trips Anne has taken. Each location visited has included her personal memoriesthus making it a memoir as well as a travelogue. While visiting with friends, she has recorded her experiences inMalta not only from her point of view as a native, but also from that of ones seeing the country for the first time.
This was a delightful travelogue. Ann Fiorentino Pflug was born in Malta and lived there until she was ten years old when her family immigrated to the United States. This memoir is a compilation of several visits she made with different people to visit her childhood country. Pflug organized it into a sixteen day trip; one chapter per day. Each day she describes the sites visited and any family she saw. It is a nice balance of memory and travelogue and enjoyable enough that I finished it in one afternoon.
