Furry Logic

Rate this book

Guaranteed to coax a smile from the grumpiest of grumps, FURRY LOGIC is a charming little book with a big heart and sly humor. Exquisitely detailed watercolor paintings depicting animals caught up in the joy and drudgery of life are paired with old adages given a new spin for our times. Tender thoughts such as “Smile first thing in the morning—get it over with,” “If you don't agree with me—it means you haven't been listening,” and “You'll always be my best friend—you know too much” go a long way toward banishing the blahs and shaking off the blues. Designer and illustrator Jane Seabrook's 40 universally appealing paintings of birds, bears, penguins, chipmunks, frogs, baboons, and more are rendered in delicate and biologically accurate detail using a tiny sable brush with a single hair at its tip. In the spirit of international best-seller The Blue Day Book, FURRY LOGIC speaks to the human condition in a way we can all relate to and feel good about.A humorous collection of quotes and drawings that turns life's little challenges into opportunities for laughter. An ideal gift for Mother's or Father's Day, birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, or for no reason at all.

One of the best 'gift' books I've ever seen. Some quotations are sarcastic, some are truly wise, some are just clever. But the art, oh, I swoon. I actually bought this many years ago and have reread it several times; it's about time to let someone else have a gander. I see there are others; I'll look for them.

Furry Logic what a great name for this wonderful book, filled with beautiful illustrations, and great words of wisdom. Whether young or older, this book is for all, with the little ones grabbing at the colorful pages, and the adults enjoying the read of the Guide to Life’s Little Challenges.
Included in this 10th Anniversary edition are the author’s notes of how she enjoyed creating the beautiful watercolors drawings that are presented with the words of wisdom. I really enjoyed the little package of a book, with something that I will be enjoying daily. This will have a prominent place on my coffee table so I can share the enjoyment with others too.

I received this book through Blogging For Books, and was not required to give a positive review.

I received this book as a gift several years ago. Even now, I still find it as funny and warm as it was when I first read it. It is humorous and sentimental and sweet--all at once--and the watercolor illustrations complement the text beautifully.

I was watching my neighbor's dog for the weekend and I read this book to the dog. It was really fun and the dog seemed to enjoy the picture book as much as I did. The Furry Logic seems to be stating something that has been said many a time, but then it takes it turn and leads the reader in a different direction. I like happy books :-)

I read this book in the checkout line.

"Furry, did you say?", asked my librarian.
"Yes yes. Fuhr-ree Logic... I don't know the author but I've heard it's a book that has a lot of nice anthropomorphic illustrations. Great for teens too."
"Umm, okay... And you sure you want us to place an order for this book?"

Slow on the take , I had to double back to remind her that it was not a fetish book that.

I eagerly waited for the 3 weeks that it took for the book to arrive. Only for me to find out that this wasn't what I was looking for.
And turns out I had to actually check this book out and couldn't just cancel my hold. I finished this book waiting in the checkout line.

Furry Logic: the Physics of Animal Life had been available all along...
