Wanting off the roller coaster of life I'd created I began to pray...once again I heard Jesus knocking, wanting to come in. I swung that door wide open and found the voice to say,"Yes,this time I'm ready to clean up this mess I'm in" Not another word was spoken,as I felt the arms of Love and Mercy wrap around me and my walk of life changing choices began...

Thirteen-year-old Rowan cherishes the memories she has of her dead father, and keeps secret the fact she's been communicating with him.

When her mother remarries and moves the family away, Rowan's father is silent. Rowan assumes it means he doesn't approve of the marriage. Desperate to get back to her father's grave and resume communications, Rowan turns her new step-father's life upside down.

Unfortunately, he's not the only one hurt by her actions.

Though my thirteen-year-old days are long past, I found it easy to relate to Rowan. Her heartache and pain came through the page and often brought me to tears. Her struggle to understand her life and those around her creates a beautiful tale of growth and understanding.

With a fantastic blend of characters and story, Wood captures the awkward SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN stages of a child on the verge of becoming a teen. I devoured this novel as soon as it arrived and have added it to my reread list.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It wasn't anything like I thought it was going to be from reading the back; which was slightly disapointing, but was great in a whole different way.
It's much less about her talking with her dead father's ghost as it is her depression and adjusting to her new stepfather. It was very enjoyable and i read it in one sitting! Would definitely recommend people to read this!
