I met him in the middle of a thunderstorm on my thirteenth birthday. Over the years, the rain would continue to be a part of our story. Sometimes, I would run for cover, and others, I would stand with my arms open wide as I got completely soaked. Lennon Cooper and Weston Blake met when they were only kids. She was the new girl in town, and he was her best friend's older brother. They aren't supposed to have feelings for each other, but eventually, neither can deny what's happening between them. They begin as a secret, but evolve into something so much more. They can't be together, but they refuse to stay away. It's only a matter of time before the storm washes over them both. This is a complete standalone novel without a cliffhanger. There is some sexual content that is not recommended for younger readers. There is also cheating, and some choice language, but it is necessary to the story.
Courtney Elliott is a writer that has been creating characters and telling their stories since she was eight years old. She enjoys spending her spare time with her daughter at their home in Texas. She is always eager to hear from anyone that has read one of her stories.

This story is a hidden gem! It’s a bridge between young adult and new adult. To me, this book was like getting the movies “Kissing Booth, Sierra Burgess is a loser, and One Day” and throwing it all in a blender! We watch how the puppy love turns into the type of love that sticks and aches to the point that if they’re not together it makes you feel sick! It’s deep and funny and I was able to “feel” the depth of Lennon's love for West. Lennon is a very likable character. Despite her shyness she’s actually a very strong and determined young woman. I also thoroughly enjoyed the lack of fluff—there is none and that is hard to find in novels nowadays. The story moves at a good pace and the characters are well developed. I will say though, it didn't make much sense to me why Lennon didn't want to reveal their relationship after she was already in college. And I also wish their story would end sooner rather than having the time jump at the end. Still... I just absolutely loved loved loved this story! Highly recommend it! I received this book as a giveaway and decided to review it voluntarily.
I just finished Soaked and I absolutely LOVED the way their relationship progressed. Even over the years and through college. Yet, somehow they would always come back to each other and get soaked during storms--what a clever theme. I am already looking forward to reading it again sometime in the future. Not sure why the MC was so scared to come out about their relationship, but her shyness was endearing to me. She was a very likable character. I would probably have ended the book sooner than it did, though. But I can understand why Courtney kept going. If I didn't want their story to end, I can only imagine how the author must've felt, lol. Nice job! I recommend it for anyone who like young-adult books--believe it or not :)
Received an ARC of this book and am providing my honest opinion. And I must honestly say, this is a wonderful book. It felt like a modern day Romeo/Juliet, with plot twists and turns along the way. The metaphors of rain and storms become psychologically implanted in the brain throughout the story. It’s funny how people think they are being sneaky, but really everyone around knows what’s going on. Like the old saying “Love is blind but the neighbors aren’t”. Lol This book is a great, casual read, with romance and a few steamy parts. Grab a cup of tea and some cookies, and enjoy the book.
I ABSOLUTELY loved this novel!!! I can't say enough good things about this surprisingly GREAT BOOK. It took me thru so many emotions and memories I felt like I was literally there with Lennon and West... true love never fails no matter the obstacles ... this book is so good I couldn't put it down... I will NEVER get caught in the rain again and not think of this book Thank you soo very much Courtney Elliot, I look forward to your future work... take a bow.. . BRAVO
lennon and west love story, it was a great read but a rocky one. lennon was 13 when she met west whos was older then her by a couple of years. it felt like some of the flow of the story was hard to get. for example when lennon is in college she as the opportunity to yell at the top of her lungs that west is hers and she instead wants to hide it. the story itself moves a good pace but sometimes you feel like its repetitive and frustrating which is what makes it almost real.
Received this copy for an honest review, and I think it's a great book. A coming of age story about Lennon and Weston who first met when they are kids. I already felt their connection at the beginning. I really liked Lennon's personality. Very real and easy to like. I would definitely recommend it to someone. If you are looking for an easy read that can make you giddy, smile and fall in love, then this book is for you.
This story is such an awesome, epic love story! The characters will suck you into the story and make you love them!! This book takes you throughout their lives, it doesn't just stop at their Happily Ever After, like so many books do! I really can't say enough about it! All the feels are here, you'll be crying, laughing, yelling at your screen, all of it! This is a must read!!
Received this copy for an honest review, and I think it's a good book. A modern day Romeo and Juliet/ coming of age type story. Lot of emotional roller coasters and memories from my own time. Great character development and twists and turns with the plot. All in all a good YA story for the times.
This book really moved me. I couldn't put it down. The main characters were so beautifully written that I felt all their emotions as if I was living with them. The author took me through the couples' highs and lows. This particular book took me out of my own world and allowed me to disappear into another universe for a while. A very good read.
From the beginning till the end I couldn't put it down I read for hours! O how I loved west ! He loved Lennon from the first rain storm till there last .. I cried at the end he came back for her like he always did!
This was a really good book with pure, strong love. There's anticipation, comedy and intense desire.
The prologue made me think it would not be an HEA. Therefore, the last 25% of the book I stressed and Confused about how a love so strong could not be a happily ever after.
Towards the end of the book, a few important details were left out in order to make the book flow smoothly. For example, West gets hurt, then chapter 24 begins and Len is staying with him in order to help him. But it's not really clear if she moved in with him, if she took time off from school, quit work. what took place in her life in order for her to be staying with West.
Also, the epilogue begins with dates. It is a little confusing because at no previous point in the book are there dates. A little into the epilogue you realize the dates are to help you realize the progression of their relationship. It would be nice to know how old they are when the dates actually begin.
It would be nice if there was a little more follow up with West. By the end of the book, We don't know what he does for a living.
What I like most about this book is West is a true gentleman. He is selfless and is truly in love with Len.
I have read a lot of books over the years and I can honestly say that I think this is one of the best I have read. To be included in a love story that lasts 74 years. How special is that! As strange as it sounds, it's mainly the end of the story that gave me goosebumps, and yes, tears in my eyes. A love, so strong, until death. The way you are taken into the lives of Lennon and Blake and their struggle to be and stay together is done so realistically. It's like you're there. Meet the love of your life at a young age and stick to it despite all the difficulties, thats true love. I really loved this book until the end
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
