Very interesting and very useful (to me). However, I feel like the last couple of chapters could have strayed a bit farther from biology and focused on cultural ideas and spirituality. This definitely still exists today, despite whatever biology says. I think this would have been more in line with the book as it was before, but perhaps Mix always intended this to be an outline of the "scientific" ideas of souls, rather than a philosophical one.
