“So much fun packed into a short book...and I can't wait to find out what happens next!” SEB, Amazon reviewer
After years of putting love on the back burner and struggling to break into Hollywood as an actress, I couldn’t help myself. I jumped on an opportunity to do both—by accepting the chance to be the pursued woman in a reality television show called Matchmaker.
Choosing among five men hand-picked specifically for me should be easy, but by the time I’ve discovered that not all of the men are ideal, it’s way too late. There’s no getting out of this contract. And when I attempt to salvage the situation, I’m met with the harsh reality that I don’t really have a choice after all…
Jade C. Jamison writes steamy contemporary romance that’s full of heat, heartbreak, and hard rock. Known for emotionally raw rockstar romances, sizzling billionaire stories, and unforgettable second chances, Jade delivers passionate stories with fierce heroines and brooding heroes.
When she's not writing, she's jamming to metal, sipping strong coffee, or spoiling her pets and family. Whether set in small-town Colorado or on tour with a band, her books take readers on an intense, romantic ride—one story at a time.
I received this book from the author f ran honest review.
WHUT!! Jade is writing a RH. When did this happen and how did I NOT KNOW? Those were my first questions when she asked me to read this book for her. I LOVE RH. I know they aren’t for everyone but hey that’s cool. I am a HUGE fan and was totally stoked to jump right in. So raise your hand if you like The Bachelor or the Bachelorette? Well them this my friends will be something you will also love to read. Claire is an actress who agreed to be on this kinda dating show. She will be living with 5 men for 4 weeks and at the end, hopefully she will have a hubby, dream house and career in Hollywood.
We get to meet all the guys right away when they have dinner in the house. Lemme say, I have my favorite already and ones I can’t stand already…..#TeamGrayson alllllll day long!! #TeamCutSpencer allllll day long. We are jumping right into challenges to win time with our single lady Claire. When the winner is crowned she still gets alone time with the other guys but in a much shorter time span. We see all the guys and love each one for a different reason…ok I didn’t love them all but yeah that is just me.
Right when we THINK we know what is going to happen we are given news that the “winning” guys gets cash? HRMMMMM??? But the biggest WTF moment was when we learn Claire doesn’t get to “give a rose” to the dudes she wants to keep…no my friends the studio audience picks! GASP! So crazy!! But I will add I have serious concerns about our TV Host Cat. I see Shady town written alllllll over her face!!!
I can’t wait for the next installment of the series!! I have my fingers crossed that the studio audience hears my cried of #CutTheDB about Spencer.
I received a copy of this book for an honest review. Ok so I have to admit I’m not in to the whole reality TV thing. My husband on the other hand is and I usually read when his shows are on. I will say Jade hooked me on this one. We are tossed in with the first challenge then one on one dates. The sexual tension is very high in this one. Claire wants to find love and thinks she will be able to find it in one of these five men. Get to know each one figure out who is not a match with you and narrow it down to one guy. Easy peasy right…uh not really. We get to meet the guys on her one on one lunch dates. These guys personalities are all so different but the show states they are all compatible mates for Claire. All the guys have to abide by certain rules but as we all know rules are meant to be bent and sometime broken. The guys personalities really come out on their one on one dates. I have to say I have already stereotyped them. I know who I love, who I dislike, and yes even what order I want to see them go off. But wait there is a twist at the end….SAY WHAT!!...yeap we find out who gets to decide which guys goes home and which ones stay. Let’s just say I was sitting here saying NO WAY. I am so ready for book 2 I need to know who will be the first one booted off the show. I know who I want it to be but my gut tells me it will be someone else.
Fast and fun, “quickie” read! Sweet and snarky with the right amount of testosterone manipulation….. So, I must say that I have never been a fan of the Bachelor or Bachelorette or whatever type of dating reality shows there are and such. However, a friend of mine just raves about this author and says you need to give this a try. I started reading it and am just getting started in the story when something occurred to me….I was actually hooked! I continued reading it, and reading it, and finished…..then had discuss this book ASAP because it ends on a cliffhanger. You will not know who goes home the first week. UGH! I NEED TO KNOW! You get a glimpse of who the men are and who Claire is but then there is the one on one time that they spend together. I started forming opinions and started to root for a couple of the guys *wags eyebrows*, but I’ll let you form your own opinions, haha! Next thing you know after the dates some things are revealed and then I’m all like “I hate that guy” and “I really need this guy to win”. SMH! I don’t know how I got so wrapped up on this already but I need more! Ms. Jade C. Jamison, please bring on book 2 soon!
Fifty percent of the way into this book, I still couldn't decide whether I like it. I'm not a fan of reality shows and I really had trouble identifying with any of the characters. I've never watched a show like the one described in this book; all I know of them are the jokes made on shows like The Soup. I'm afraid that not being a fan of the genre made the book less enjoyable for me.
About eighty percent of the way into the book I realized that it would not be ending within the allotted pages. It’s a cliffhanger, and I hate that kind of thing. Luckily for me, I'm one of Jade Jamison’s advanced readers so I knew book 2 was waiting for me.
Here’s what I discovered: First of all, I want to know what happens next, not necessarily because I like the characters but because I'm intrigued by the plot. Secondly, if I didn't have book 2 waiting for me, I'd be really annoyed. So, if you don't like reality shows, this book may not be for you. If you don't like cliffhangers, this book definitely isn't for you. But if you like Jade Jamison, as I do, you'll enjoy the book for that reason alone.
I’ll admit it, I’m kind of a reality show junkie - well, at least my select few that I DVR so I don’t miss an episode. ‘Looking for Love’ is a fun, sexy spoof of relationship reality shows. We have our single gal - who by the way is trying to be an actress so what better way to get noticed then a reality show - and five single men all trying to be the final man by her side.
We learn a little about each of our men and get to see how they interact with Claire when they are out on their “dates”. When the first show is aired, we, and Claire, get to see what they are like with each other when Claire was not around. One of them we could tell could be a real d-bag, but we also get to see that side from one of the other ones also! Then in true fashion, Jade throws in a twist to the show that leaves us wondering what is going to happen next!
I can't wait for book two to see what the audience decided and what is going to happen next.
I have read a few of these reality show type books and while most of them are really rom/com, this one shows a slightly darker and more manipulative side to the whole matchmaking show process. Sure there is some steam and a lot of sexual tension...but there is also some deceitful behavior, sneaky rule changes and some surprises that are yet to be fully revealed. So much fun packed into a short book...and I can't wait to find out what happens next!
This kind of book disappoints me most. I spend the time investing with the characters, then at the end of the book there is no resolution. You're left hanging. By the time the next book comes out, you've read others and you've forgotten the story or you no longer care what happens. It's a shame because it is as engaging story and I'm left saying " what the heck just happened."
Typos in the first chapter. Difficult to meet everyone when the names get mixed up! I am not a reality TV person, not sure if you should trust my judgement on this. It was all from her perspective, we gained insite on the men during voting days when she watched video of how they spent their time away from her. None of the characters seemed very interesting, I felt like I was reading about her hourly fashion choices.
If you love reality TV shows, you’ll love this first book in the series. Think bachelor or bachelorette, but instead of watching it on tv your reading it. 1 woman and 5 guys. Only 1 guy wins. This first book definitely has me wanting more. I need to know what happens next! This is a Fast, Fun, Sexy read.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book really but, as Jade usually delivers, I was intrigued. And let me just say, the first thing I wanted to exclaim as I read the last sentence was, NO!!!
It’s a good no though. A no thought in shouty capital letters, because the book ended on a cliffhanger I will be wondering about until I have the sequel in hand.
Well, that was one heck of a start to a series. I loved the dating show idea and being introduced to the contestents slowly. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next instalment, it'll be interesting to see which way Claire will lean.
The book is nice, but didn’t grab me in to the story. I don’t really like this kind of shows. But the story was good enough for me to finish the book. It you like reality shows, this is a book I highly recomment.
The premise of the series is great but not sure if I loved the follow through.... it’s like the bachelor (show) but the views choose who stays . Everyone is looking of love or are they after the money
Wow I got to hand it to Jade. She can write just about anything and I can get so into it! I'm loving this! 5 Very different guys, so who should Claire choose? Read to find out.....
This story was everything I would expect to see in one of those “real” reality shows. I would also expect the bachelors to be as competitive and catty as any group of women if not worse. Looking forward to part two!
