This is a sweet small town romance between Gracie and Rich. I enjoyed watching them come together even though neither one was looking for love. The author brings a bit of drama and all the feels ,moves the story at a steady pace and is an enjoyable read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I wanted an easy light read. Sometimes I want historical, sometimes fantasy, sometimes deep, dark drama but yesterday I was in the mood for a gentle romance. This story is definitely that – but for me a little too sweet and gentle. The characters and settings are good. I loved the small town camerarderie. Rick's idea of the cafe bar sounded perfect. I know the US is a lot less strict that the Uk about planning but getting all that done in a month. Can that really happen? I so wish it could here, six months would be a good deal, but with council planning., sites visits, 101 forms to fill in it can be far, far longer. Life would be so much easier, more fun if it was only a few weeks. Gracie has been through such a trauma, and is still recovering. Grief takes different times, some folk need just a few months, others like Gracie still feel after years. Then Rick and Iz come into her life. They turn it upside down, Iz is adorable, precocious as girls that age can be, but fun. And when she talks about her mum that's so sad, poor kid. Rick feels attracted to her right from the start, even though they get off on the wrong foot. Slowly their lives intertwine and mingle. I enjoyed the story, but it didn't have me gripped, it was just a little too light, almost twee, at times and I need a bit more drama. There is some towards the end, the sweet spot in books where just as everything seems to come together it falls apart. It isn't really enough for me though. As always though its perfect for others, not everyone wants drama, we all like different things about stories, so though its not a reread for me it could be perfect for you.
Stars: Three, a little light for me, I needed a bit more depth and drama.
This story features two people who are wary of love. They have had their hearts broken in the past and are now loathe to let anyone close enough to break them again. But Fate and the town’s matchmakers see the spark of awareness between them and are determined to nudge Rick and Gracie towards each other. They put up a very good fight, but his precocious and adorable daughter keeps bringing them together.
Gracie restarted her life after a terrible tragedy a decade ago, but her maternal clock is ticking and Rick sets off all sorts of inner alarms. His daughter...well his daughter makes her longing to be a mother stronger, even if she and her puppy leave chaos in their wake. After he misled her about his business, Gracie told herself that Rick couldn’t be trusted and did her best to avoid him, but her group of friends are having none of that. Rick is drawn toward his beautiful landlady, and he is aware of the plotting of her friends behind the scenes. Trying to protect his and his daughter’s heart against warm-hearted and kind Gracie proves to be impossible. A shared kiss left them both wanting more, and then his daughter’s sleepover gives them a chance to explore a more intimate relationship. They both seem to be on the same wavelength, and want the same thing in regards to a relationship until a blast from his past derails everything. Have they foolishly given their hearts to someone only to have them shattered again?

Gracie Hart lives quietly in Harbor Falls, North Carolina, as she heals from losing the love of her life and her ballet dream. She opened a little boutique gift shop and is doing quite well. Rick Price, who moved in next door, is looking to start over with his young daughter, Izzie. His law career was exhausting him, so he gave it up and is looking at storefront property to have his own business and more time with his daughter. Meeting Gracie gives him new hope that she can be what he feels is missing in his life. But would Gracie be able to release the past to embrace a future with Rick and Izzie?
This is one of those stories that quietly fills your heart and then leaves you surrounded in warmth. There is no big drama to get through. And sometimes that’s just what a reader needs. De-stress time to share in the happiness of others. Grab your copy and enjoy Gracie and Rick’s story. Not even looking for love, it may have found them anyway!
Falling for Grace, by Maddie James is a sweet, old-fashioned romantic story. Gracie and Carson have sadness and tragedy in their pasts. Carson’s six year old daughter is also suffering from a serious loss that Carson is trying to make better by giving up his career as a lawyer to spend more time with her.
Falling for Grace begins the Falls Mountain series. Grace has found her special place after experiencing extreme disappointments. Losing her career as a ballerina came second only to losing the man she’d considered the love of her life. Yet, life happened, adjustments were made, and happiness is, in so many ways, a decision. While Grace was content in her own version of happiness with her charming shop, close friends, and the quirky community that she loved… well, loving again wasn’t a risk she had been willing to take. It looks like life is about to give her another chance to change her mind when Rick and his adorable daughter, Izzy, move in next door.
Of all the characters, I fell madly for little Izzy. This precocious little girl steals every single scene she’s in, and always brought a smile when Izzy was just being… Izzy. Rick has set aside many aspects of his high-stress life to live a simpler, more focused life with his daughter in this small town. It surprised him in so many ways, just how easily he and Izzy were settling in and how the community seemed to be embracing the newcomers. That his next door neighbor, Grace, was at the head of those who were more than welcoming… and that she sparked emotions he wasn’t always comfortable with would be the only drawback to this move to give his daughter more of his attention.
Two people, each wary of love for different reasons, are about to realize that found family can be discovered anywhere, and that allowing those strong emotions to resurface isn’t the worst thing that could possibly happen to them.
I enjoyed Falling for Grace so much. It’s a well-written, emotional story of two people who have been burned by life’s experiences and, despite everything life has sent their way, take a second chance on each other. They fit so well together, and, of course, Izzy is at center stage in her adorableness. If you love a well-written, engaging romance full of laughter and tears, hard truths and tender emotions, then you’d love Grace and Rick’s story.
Be aware that this title is a reissue. I mention this in all of my reviews of reissued or previously published titles with no ill intent because, frankly, it’s very easy to click on a book by a favorite author at any retailer and end up purchasing a title that is already owned under a different name/cover. (They don’t always show up as “Owned” before the purchase.)

When a heartbroken former ballerina meets a single dad starting over, love finds its rhythm again. Grace Hart thought her future ended the night she lost the two things she loved most—her fiancé and her ballet career. Now she’s built a quiet, safe life running Romantically Yours, a cozy boutique in the small mountain town of Harbor Falls, North Carolina. Love isn’t on her agenda… until new renters move in next door.
Divorced attorney Rick Price is ready to trade long hours and courtroom stress for a fresh start with his spirited six-year-old daughter, Izzie. He’s not looking for romance—just a second chance at being the father Izzie deserves. But when Grace offers friendship and the warmth of community, his carefully controlled world starts to spin.
As Grace learns to let go of her painful past and Rick dares to open his heart again, both discover that sometimes love appears when you stop chasing it—and that family can be found in the most unexpected places.
This contemporary sweet and emotional small-town next-door neighbor second-chance romance is page-turning with exceptional world-building set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and characters who are a single dad and a former ballerina pairing full of heartwarming chemistry, who are humorous, resilient, captivating, and realistic. Their journey is enthralling with falling for grace, healing from loss and new beginnings, adorable child sidekick and charming small-town community, semi-sweet romance emotional intimacy with light heat/mature romance that is sweet, not explicit, starting over in a new town, the hero has a daughter, local ship owners, close proximity, humor with pets, healing, hope, and courage to dance again, chaos/drama, heartfelt emotions/emotional depth, action, adventure, and more. I recommend reading this book by an extraordinary author who knows how to captivate her readers' hearts and attention with falling for grace and a sweet, emotional small-town next-door neighbor second-chance romance that is sure to transport readers into a world that is wildly emotional, humorous, and unforgettable.

This small-town romance centers on an interesting setup: a landlady and her tenant, who is also a single dad. From the very beginning, though, the story struggles with character logic. When he applies for the shop and apartment, she refuses him—not for professional reasons, but because she already feels attracted to him. From his point of view, he assumes it’s because his daughter may have broken something, which already creates a misunderstanding that feels unnecessarily stretched. Unfortunately, the questionable decision-making doesn’t stop there. The male main character is a lawyer who decides to open a bar, supposedly so he can spend more time with his daughter. That motivation simply doesn’t make sense, as running a bar is anything but family-friendly when it comes to working hours. Opening a small law practice would have aligned far better with his stated goals, which makes his choices feel contradictory. Both main characters repeatedly act against their own motivations and desires, often behaving in ways that feel irrational or inconsistent. Because of that, it was hard to connect with them or feel invested in the romance. The constant contradiction between what they want and what they do made the story confusing rather than emotionally engaging. Overall, while the premise had potential and the small-town setting is appealing, the lack of coherent character logic made it difficult for me to truly enjoy this book.

Technically 3.5 stars. I enjoyed this sweet small-town romance, though it took a while for the author to draw me into the story. The story alternates between Carson's and Grace's points of view. The characters were engaging and I thoroughly loved 6-year-old tomboy Izzie! Gracie hasn't moved on from her two lost loves - her fiancé and her dancing career, even though she thinks she has. I did feel for Grace and her awful past, but after 10 years it is time to move on with her life! I cheered when she finally let the past go and was ready to embrace the present. However, she just wanted to curl up and die alone, aka run away, when she wouldn't let Carson explain what happened during his ex's visit. He did make some mistakes dealing with that situation, but they were in character so it did not cause a problem for me as a reader. There were some terrific moments like when Carson and Gracie go for a drive, and when Carson confronts her with his feelings and points out that she is running away all over again. I also got a kick out of the gift Izzie gave to Gracie at the end. It was a delightful scene! This book was a simple, sweet romance. I was not bowled over by the story, but I did enjoy it. It had its moments...
Sweet low-heat romance This is book one in a new/old series which takes place in Harbor Falls, North Carolina. Harbor Falls is a small mountain town with busybodies and matchmakers; when a new man arrives to open a café next door to Grace’s shop Romantically Yours, the town is abuzz. Grace has lived a quiet life for ten years without the need of a man but recently her biological clock has been banging away. (Reminds me of a movie from years past as the actress stands on the porch, stomping her foot over-and-over again…like that.) But Grace denies her curiosity about the man, Richard “Rick” Price whose little girl Izzie steels the show. We find out why Grace has stayed away from relationships for ten years. We also find out why Rick and Izzie moved to the mountains of North Carolina alone. There will be secrets divulged; pasts disclosed; and lots of interesting secondary characters. I called this a new/old series because the publication dates of the books in this series are years ago, but they are being given a reprise by the author. If you like sweet, romantic stories, please try this series. This is the second standalone but interconnected book of this series that I have read and it will not be the last. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout.
This book captured my attention from the beginning. It had me in laughter and tears, with its conflict and surprises throughout. It was easy to love the main characters, Gracie, Carson and Izzy, and root for them to be a family. I recommend this book and look forward to reading others by Maddie James.
A warning though, there are some errors and typos that should be corrected in the next proofing.
I enjoyed this story, even though some behaviors were erratic and distant. The MCs who, avoiding their mutual attraction and each other, unwillingly fell for each other. The MMC's little attentive troublemaker pulled me in as well. In the end, I didn't like Rick ignoring Grace for two days despite his predicament, especially after they had finally become closer. I didn't mind her reaction to that; sometimes there's a place for big, unreasonable reactions. I liked his trying to reconnect.

The storytelling is of a second chance opportunity for both main characters, but for different reasons. Small town living and loving, well developed and nice characters. Grace lost her fiance and her dance career, so her life is effected by emotional experiences. Rick is a si gle father, tradi g high end career pressure for a more sedate, peacful lifestyle.

This story will have you laughing at the things Isabella comes up with and at how her father will do anything for her. You have the landlord who rents them the upstairs apartment, and an ex who shows up. Both will have to put their past behind them and take a chance. Enjoy reading.

Falling for Grace is a tender, heartwarming story about love, loss, and second chances. Ten years after losing everything she valued most, Grace has built a quiet life running her shop—content, but not truly fulfilled. Everything changes when Rick and his daughter Izzy walk into her world, stirring feelings she thought she’d buried and reminding her that she still yearns for more.
This is a beautiful romance with a true happily‑ever‑after, made even sweeter by Izzy, who is the cherry on top of the cake. She’s such a delightful character that I couldn’t help but fall in love with her, and I can’t wait to read her story one day. Maddie James delivers warmth, emotion, and hope in a way that makes this book highly recommended for anyone who loves heartfelt contemporary romance.

Tropes: * Small town * Mountain setting * Divorced single dad * Second chance * Healing from loss * New beginnings * Found family
The first in a new series, this is a heartfelt story, although Grace is a little all over the place in the beginning. Her thought process was unhinged!
I wasn’t sure about Rick, and honestly, I didn’t like his underhanded actions. I know she didn’t have a say in what his business was, but seriously??
I couldn’t see the chemistry between them. She was kind of neurotic. He wasn’t very trustworthy, and a bit of an a-z. He was wishy-washy, treated her pretty c.rappy, and she just waved it away… EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
This had a pretty horrible third act breakup, if you could call it that. I personally thought it was unnecessary with all of the other issues between them. The betrayal from both Rick and Izzie would have hurt so much, and honestly, there is no way that I can believe in a truly happy ending for them. Both Izzie and Rick showed that Grace was their second choice, and that if the ex didn’t disappear, she would have been an afterthought for them. The gaslighting from Rick was strong. It’s hard, and I don’t want to define it as her being a doormat, but it was pretty close.
I definitely saw a friendship forming throughout the book, and her bond with his daughter was sweet, but nothing in this actually screamed romance, love and a believable happy ending.

Although there are many well written parts and the characters are very real and full of depth, there were more things that made me aggravated and angsty through out the book then I enjoyed. Grace and Brandon and their hookups wouldn’t be so bad if they weren’t portrayed as this big epic love that really is not as complicated as the author implies. Both characters keep you on this emotional roller coaster full of drama. Brandon is more focused on himself and his career to want anything real with Grace no matter how many times the author points you in that direction. The family dynamic with Brandon’s family is also a roller coaster. This book is a journey through teenage love that was always on a side burner. Then in the end you are left with vague innuendos of what happens with the characters. This well written book just was not my favorite, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be yours.

Dance Into My Heart by Maddie James is a clean romance featuring a mid-thirtyish single woman who is reconciled to staying so, and a divorced man with a little girl name Isabella (Izzie) who come to Harbor Falls to rent a storefront that adjoins her. She runs a romance store, Romantically Yours, that features a variety of goods: clothing, jewelry, books, tea, perfumes, et al. He misleads her into thinking her is opening a cafe when in reality it is more a family bar. He calls it Rick's Cafe, after himself. Grace is not happy when she figures it out, but the lease is ironclad and she really had come to like Izzie.
This is a simple romance: no huge secrets, just simple misunderstanding which were easily remedied. Rick was tired of his high-pressure life as a lawyer in Ashville and he needed to spend more time with his daughter. He didn't want her to be raised by babysitters, no matter how good they were. And her certainly wasn't looking for a woman, not after his last experience. He is the typical reluctant suitor, until he isn't. Grace has been hurt and she doesn't intend it to happen again. She has spent ten long years recovering and just because he is good-looking, doesn't mean she is going to get involved. The plot is thin, but that's OK. It is truly a feel-good romance that will make you smile. I was invited to read a free e-ARC of Dance Into My Heart by Turquoise Morning, through Netgalley.

Eh. Tragedy, tragedy and a cute kid. Pretty ho hum romance SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!
I don't care what is going on. When your ex unexpectedly drops in to see the kid she has blown off for the most part, you do not ignore your lover who lives across the hall for two days while your ex stays with you. Nope. Nada. Nyet. Non. Nein. You do not do this. And when your fella says it was all just so sudden and he didn't know how to handle the situation but he knows he messed up because you're pissed off and breaking up with him, turn around and run. Because, he's going to just keep doing stupid sh*! cuz, duh, it appears that's just how he rolls. So kindly explain to him that while he and his kid are cute and all, and, while, if he was an adult enough to know how to handle his personal issues in a grown up way, you, might be interested, you never, ever want to be the new wife, stepmother in this scenario. Just imagine the next time the ex decides to show up. The kid thinks it's okay for mom to play sleep over cuz that's what dad did. Hmmm, don't want the ex to spend the night in your home. So sad for you because, I can guarantee, you're going to get to play bad cop in this situation. So, no, I do not see a happily ever after this dysfunctional foursome.

Rick, never dreamed he'd end up be a single dad; yet here he was trying to figure out how to raise one spirited little girl. Okay so maybe they didn't have the best of first meetings but hey maybe there was some kind of re-set button they could push. Gracie had a nice but maybe a little bland routine that kepted. her going. But now with her new neighbors disrupting even throwing a few kinks in to her well ordered life and she wasn't sure how to react. Still year after year she was just letting the world quietly pass her by because it was safer then to try. However that man must have discovered some of her best kept secrets because he seemed to figure out just how to crack her; she armor. Gracie knew it would be much easier to simply close the door before something worse happened. They were suffering from a few too many misses; one being misunderstanding and the other miscommunication. On top of the fact both of them were selectively to stubborn for their own good. Still he wasn't willing to just give up without at least trying.

I enjoyed the story, but it didn't have me gripped, it was a little too light. I needed a little more drama to pull me into the story. There is some towards the end, the sweet spot in books where just as everything seems to come together it comes apart. It isn't really enough for me though. As always though it's perfect of others, not everyone wants drama, we all light different things about stories, so though it's not a reread for me, it could be perfect for you.
A clean romance that is super sweet. On the one hand a woman who had her love and lost it, on the other hand a man who burned himself in love and was left with his daughter. To provide her with a safe childhood, they move to the village of Harbor Falls.
Richard (Rick) Price rents half of a house where he can start his business. His neighbor and landlord is Gracie Hart who has a shop in her part of the house. Rick is charmed by her and so is his 6-year-old daughter Isabelle. Love blossoms between the two but both are careful to give in. A tornado gives them a boost, his ex-wife creates tensions, but love wins. A beautiful scene in the book when Izzy offers her 2 paper hearts to show Gracie that she has their hearts in her hands.

This was a sweet story about a single father trying to change his world to spend more time with his daughter, and a former ballerina trying to find her place after losing her ability to dance. Gracie was a beautiful dancer before an accident left her unable to dance and with the loss of her fiancée. Rick becomes a single father when his wife decides her acting career is more important than her family. I enjoyed the slow build of their friendship into a relationship while also building a friendship between Gracie and Rick’s daughter Izzie. The only thing standing in their way of a HEA is opening up their hearts again and letting love in.

I absolutely loved this book.....loved....loved.....loved. I craved a sweet light hearted book that would touch my heart and this was perfect, just perfect. The hesitation to give your heart to someone after it has been broken is normal, doing it is heroic. This book reminded me that second chances are gifts that you should cherish and not run from. I also fell head over heels for Izzy. She craves a family and when her plans do not go as planned, she just decides there is a better plan and pushes it. She gets what she wants and a bubble bath and fake champagne to boot. I love that kid and I loved this book.
Rick and Gracie didn't do a lot of dancing, unless you counted the dancing around each other and the feelings they tried to avoid. Cue the meddling women of Harbour Falls with their not-so-subtle matchmaking and Rick's daughter Izzie. Izzie was funny and a bit mischievious for her own good. Wasn't a fan of Marci and she can exit stage left permanently for all the good she does during and after her visit...smh!! Gracie stepped up to be the mother Izzie needed and the wife Rick deserved. She found healing in releasing the pain from 10 years ago.
