Brynn Stewart searched for six years to find the story to propel her from local-news field reporter to primetime TV anchor. Only she didn’t expect it to come in the form of an eleven-year-old informant hiding in a seedy alley, who witnessed the murder of Congressman Shephard’s hot-shot, defense attorney son, Cullen, in what is believed to be a drug deal gone bad. Integrity demands she protect him first before taking advantage of the story of the century. But when she calls the police, within minutes, suspicious, menacing men show up at her door forcing her to run, and leaving her wondering if there is anyone she can trust.
Maddox “The Reaper” Fulton, after spending fifteen years as a Recon Marine, keeps a foot in his marine roots by serving as a member of the Aegis Network. Nicknamed “The Reaper” he’s known for his lethal, covert skills in combat, infiltration, and sniper training.
Maddox prides himself on his professionalism, but once in close proximity with the stunning, sharp, and fiercely protective, Brynn Stewart, feelings he long-since thought himself incapable of spark to life. Maddox is willing to compromise just about all of his principles and break every single rule to explore the passion simmering below the surface just waiting to break free.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review, and I give it a 3.5 star rating. This was the first book I have read by this author, but I have read quite a few of the Omega Team series by various authors. I liked the book and story but since it is a novella, it was a little short for my taste. The story could have been a full novel with better development of the characters and plot. Due to the length the book, the story seemed rushed from when the main characters meet and are instantly attracted to each other to the ending and how the story is resolved. The author shows lots of potential, I just wish she wrote more!!
Safe House was a short but fast-paced novella that definitely kept me entertained and wondering what will happen next. Brynn is a reporter looking for her big break but finds a boy who witnessed a murder instead. Enter alpha male, Maddox, and the wild ride is off! It was a good book but entirely too short. I had a hard time connecting to the main characters just due to the little time the reader had to get to know them. The story told the story about the characters instead of showed how they were through actions which is much more rewarding. Still, it’s a good story and worth reading if you only have time for a short one. I received an ARC for my honest review.
Brynn is a news reporter looking for a story, her big break. Maddox is an Omega team member that protects those that find themselves in difficult situations. When Brynn finds a witness to a horrible crime & their lives are in jeopardy, Maddox is called in to protect them. The chemistry between Brynn & Maddox is instantaneous & HOT! For a short novella, Ms. Hagen managed to create a connection between the reader & the characters. I was hooked from the first page & couldn't put it down. This is a very intense, sexual story. Loved it!
Brynn Stewart is searching for the story that will take her to the top. Maddox "The Reaper" Fulton knows that a marriage and kids isn't on his list of goals. One little boy holds the answers. Will they be able to discover what Cullen saw? Will Brynn and Maddox win?
This was a steamy, action packed quick read! Loved how both Brynn and Maddox were strong characters. Fell in love with Cullen as soon as we met him and the innocence he still carried was great. Great read!

I voluntarily reviewed this book. Brynn has a problem. Her nose for news has uncovered a story that has her running for her life. The story was too down pat, but she knew there must be more. Then when the bad guys find out that she knows, the race is on to stop them from finishing the job. Reaper specializes in protecting but as soon as he sets his sites on Brynn he will do anything to protect her, including giving his life. Can they protect each other?
The Omega Team is a really quick read that packs a lot of punch for the word count. This is the first book I've read by Casey Hagen and I'm not disappointed. For such a short story, the characters are surprisingly well developed. This has an action packed story line with a lot of feels and some steamy bits to keep things interesting. I'll definitely be reading more from this author. (Reader review copy)
Brynn wants to break a big story to get a promotion. Finding a young boy, Skyler, who was an eye witness seemed to be the answer. Her friend out her in touch with the Omega Team to protect her and the boy. Maddox is more than she expected but he is good at his job. She has not only put herself in danger but her family and friends.
This is an action-packed thriller with some good characters. Since this is such a short read the character development is a bit lacking, I feel that the author should have fleshed out the storyline and characters and made this into a full-length book. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
This is a fast-paced, exciting read. Maddox and Brynn are both protectors and perfect for each other. Will they be able to keep Skyler and each other safe? Is there a HEA in their future or will everything self destruct? I suggest you read this book for yourself.
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book from Hidden Gems which I am voluntarily reviewing*
Maddox and Brynn were great characters and had great chemistry. While Brynn is investigating a story about a murder she finds a child. Skyler who had a terrible story has been living on the streets and witnessed this murder. When Brynn tries to call the cops she gets thugs instead. Enter Maddox who is to protect her. Loved all these characters. Great story with lots of action and an HEA.
The Aegis Network helps those with no one else. Maddox gets the call the Brynn and a boy under her protection need his help. They have instant chemistry and so much more even though they just met. All they have to do is survive her enemy to have a happily ever after.
Bryan a reporter is looking into a murder when she finds Skyler a young runaway boy who witnessed it. They both land themselves in a dangerous position. Maddox is in the Omega team sent to look after them. Really enjoyed this book. Voluntarily reviewed this advance copy
Really good premise that I would have loved to see developed with at least a few more chapters. Needed some editing and story inconsistencies in such a short story was a little disappointing, but all in all, a good read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review
wow this book was a great quick read. brylynn and Maddox were a hot little thrown together couple. I wish it had just a bit more detail and story instead of a one and done type book
