Venturing outdoors at sunset to collect messages that have been left by her special friends, an imaginative young girl discerns "night letters" in the designs on a hawkmoth's wings and the flashing rhythms of fireflies.
Conceptually, I liked this book. I was hoping for something that tied it all together at the end and connected it to writing, but I can see where I could make that point myself. The whole focus of the book is noticing and I liked it for that. It was simple, and definitely best for a primary audience, but it could serve a purpose in a classroom if it were used correctly.
Beautifully illustrated picture book about a little girl who walks outside in the evening to capture what she thinks those things she observes are saying if they had written letters to her. A nice mentor text for early writers.
