My Protector

Raven knows no one will believe her. Giant tiger-like creatures did not just leap from the clouds, and invisible forces do not just save your life during Sahara Desert sandstorms. Impossible, they always said, scolding her at the age of twelve. Ten years later, Raven knows the impossible is possible, and finds herself tormented with many unanswered questions concerning her birth and her mother’s mysterious disappearance. Perhaps falling in love with Nevar, an emotionless and bodiless Storm God isn’t a good idea, but the attraction they feel for one another is impossible to deny. Soon it becomes clear that he is the only one who can unravel her puzzling past and perhaps save her life. But an evil Sea Goddess knows exactly who Raven is, and even more importantly…what she is.

Lawna Mackie is a Canadian author who writes stories centered on love—hope for love when it feels out of reach, and the fight to hold onto it when it’s finally found, even against all odds. Whether set in the real world or in fantasy realms, love is always at the heart of her work.

She writes across many genres, including contemporary, suspense, adventure, fantasy, and paranormal romance. A lifelong animal lover, Lawna naturally weaves animals and creatures into every story she writes.
Sometimes they are loyal companions, sometimes guides, and sometimes a quiet source of comfort, but there is always an animal presence shaping the journey and reminding her characters—and readers—of connection, loyalty, and trust.

Lawna is also venturing into nonfiction and has begun her first book inspired by her experiences with the wild horses of Alberta’s Eastern Slopes. She lives in Canada, where both nature and imagination continue to fuel her storytelling.

Fantasy romance with gods, goddesses, humans and everything in between. This author creates her own world in present with a storm god who starts to care for a little girl one day in the Sahara Desert. Raven has only her father for a family and is clearly lonely until that fateful day in the desert where she gets her guardian angels in the form of a Stormcat and a storm god. Then we skip ahead to a twenty-two year old Raven who is a researcher in Canada and still being cared for by the storm god which gets all sexy, but with out actual touch because Nevar has no corporal body (Nevar is clearly the Hero with his name the backwards spelling for Raven).
There is an adventure to find Raven's long lost brother Jerid and the origins of her mother and family with tons of sex in between each step of the story.
Perhaps too much sex?
Never! But this story was more erotica then romance although I did put it on my romance shelf.
Full length fantasy story with a total HEA for the main characters. Someone should reread to catch the typos like 'farther' when it should have been 'father'.

A bit chaotic

I really wanted to love this book ,but it dragged on and there were too many storylines. It needed to be a little more focused. It was still worth reading.
