Decision: Earth

Rate this book
Earth answers the question, “What if?” What if humanity actually made contact with extraterrestrial intelligence? the answers are seen through the eyes of a group of people living in the early years of the new millennium. The book tells the stories of a SETI researcher, Tom Smith, and his astronaut wife, Annie Jones, and of Boston Globe reporter Art Barrett and his “significant other,” newscaster Cary Chan. The narrative unfolds as a form of “creative history,” written by Jedidiah Knight, a university professor who lives in the year 2112. “Professor Knight” weaves significant amounts of contemporary material into his work, which is the first book in a multi-volume series.
