Dopo il combattimento con l’Inquisitore, Ezra si rende conto del rapporto profondo che si è instaurato con il suo Maestro Kanan. Ora però è atteso da una nuova prova per verificare se possiede i requisiti necessari a diventare un Jedi.
The first volume of the Rebels manga was iffy, the second volume began to find the right groove, and volume three is perfect. This volume completes season one of the TV series—Ezra building his first lightsaber, Kanan being captured by Tarkin and the Grand Inquisitor, and the reveal of Fulcrum and the full scope of the nascent Rebel Alliance. Much of this volume is action, which translates really well to manga. The emotional responses of the characters also come through nicely. None of this would really make sense without being familiar with the TV series, but it's a fun, quick companion to the real story.
This book and the previous two book together captured my faverite moments of Rebels season one. This book completes the journey of Kaman to a Jedi Knight and Ezra as his Padawan.
The book stars with Ezra completing his trial and construct his first Lightsaber, and goes right up to the end of season one.I especially like the way the artwork become darker during the duels.
If this series finished here I will be happy, but if they decide to carry on to cover the rest of the Rebels seasons I will not be complaining and will buy every book.
The final volume of the Star Wars Rebels manga is here and it is brilliant. Mitsuru Aoki's art brings new life to the story through every daring escape and lightsaber duel. If I went into full detail about how much these characters mean to me I would never be able to stop writing, so I'll just tell you that these manga adaptations absolutely make my heart melt. This volume covers the episodes "Path of the Jedi", "Call to Action", "Rebel Resolve", and "Fire Across the Galaxy", with each one being a critical moment for Ezra Bridgers's journey. Through this series, he has grown more confident in both his ability to use the Force and his place in the rebellion. Although this series only covers the first season of the TV show, I still felt like the story was wrapped up well. I've really enjoyed all of the Star Wars manga I've read this year and I am excited for more.
A very petty one star. The final few episodes of S1 of Rebels are some of my favorite Star Wars convent and this was just…incredibly disappointing. I knew something was wrong when the journey to the Jedi temple on Lothal was rushed through to the point where I’m certain it was only included to explain how Ezra got a lightsaber. Other things that were changed or cut that I’m mad about: - The episode between these ones about a senator who purposefully lured rebels into death traps while pretending to be one of their own and Hera’s beautiful speech at the end to Ezra. - Aresko and Grint being executed in cold blood by the Grand Inquisitor, which was a moment that absolutely stunned me as a child first watching the show and still gives me chills now - The exchange between the Grand Inquisitor and Kanan after the Grand Inquisitor throws Ezra and he’s presumed dead goes from (paraphrased but close) “You’ve made a mistake.” “Why? Because you have no one left to die for you?” “No. Because I have nothing left to fear.” to “You’ve made a mistake this time.” “Why do you say that?” “You’ll figure out soon enough.” which is nowhere near as impactful. - Likewise, the Grand Inquisitor’s dying words were changed from “There are some things far more frightening than death.” to “You may have won this time, Jedi, but your relief will be temporary. I hope you realized what you’ve unleashed. It is coming.” which is fine in a vacuum but again, not as good as the original line. - Hera and Sabine in particular get done so dirty in this series. One of my favorite S1 episodes is the one where the two of them are trapped together while picking up supplies and forced to fight off beasts and that episode was completely cut from the manga despite it including Kanan and Ezra traveling to the same planet in Vol. 2, A PLANET THAT THEY KNOW ABOUT BECAUSE OF THE EARLIER EPISODE. - The Darksaber reference was way too on the nose. Also, why would Sabine, who routinely uses flashy art as a distraction and weapon and has her armor, helmet, and hair all painted, suddenly decide that a lightsaber blade is too bright and distracting lol - Again I am so annoyed at how this manga uses Hera. She barely appears in the second volume and when she appears in this one it’s only in relation to Kanan. I get that the manga focuses on Kanan and Ezra but one of the beautiful things about the show is that you grow attached to the ENTIRE Ghost crew and not just the lead. I mean come on, Hera and Sabine are meant to parallel Kanan and Ezra in the episode where they’re stranded—Sabine is also afraid of losing everything and everyone again and has no home where she’s welcome outside of the Ghost crew. - I understand that the manga cannot cover EVERY episode of Rebels but Rebels in particular is a show where even the “filler” episodes come back in an important way. Like there’s no explanation given for why the Ghost crew has the painted-up TIE fighter that they use as a distractive demolition while rescuing Kanan since that episode wasn’t covered in the manga.
Anyways the biggest takeaway here is just watch Rebels.

i’m not gonna lie this one didn’t have the best storytelling, but i’m still awarding it 3 stars because rebels is my favorite series.
i did get lost during some points in this one i think, or maybe that was the other volume. idk i’m writing this review kind of afterwards but i do recall getting a little mixed up at certain points and being like “wait what? how did we get here all of a sudden?” i feel like a lot was definitely left out, which is understandable, but overall it felt rushed and unorganized.
the art style in the rebels manga series is a little bit less appealing compared to the style in other star wars manga adaptations, like the leia series and lost stars.
but overall it’s very very cute even if it feels a little jumbled up at times!!
This final Volume for the manga Rebels is the best of the 3. I would enjoy seeing this story more in this style. Highlights: - Ezra and Kanan go to the Jedi Temple on Lothal and are led through visions where Ezra learns to trust the Force and himself and Kanan learns he is a worthy teacher, both guided by the presence of Yoda - After getting a kyber crystal at the Lothal Temple. Ezra builds his lightsaber. - A mission on Lothal goes wrong and Kana is captured and taken to Mustafar. - The crew of The Ghost goes to rescue Kanan and he and Ezra have their final battle against the Grand Inquisitor, defeating him, but drawing the focus of Vader. - During their escape, the crew is welcomed to the Rebellion by Bail Organa and the mysterious contact known only as Fulcrum... who introduces herself as Ahsoka Tano, now all grown up from her last appearance in Clone Wars.
Solid story from Star Wars. Enjoying the manga styles I've been reading. Recommend.
The third and final Manga volume adapting episodes of the animated series Rebels, including the finale of season one. Kanan and Ezra enter Lothal's long-abandoned Jedi Temple and each progress in their journeys as Jedi. They and the rest of the Ghost crew then launch a major operation against the Empire but have reckoned without the intervention of the Grand Inquisitor and Grand Moff Tarkin himself.
It's fair to say that these Manga adaptations don't really do justice to Hera, Sabine, Zeb and Chopper, but in many ways I'm glad that their focus is on the Jedi path of Kanan and Ezra, which was one of the most compelling aspects of the TV series for me (the other, from later seasons, was the formation of the Rebel Alliance). So, having this book feature both their important sojourn within the Lothal Temple (including an encounter with a certain little green Jedi Master) and their final confrontation with the Grand Inquisitor, really worked for me.
Unfortunately, much like the previous two volumes, I didn't feel that this adaptation did the best job of capturing the spirit of the show itself. In particular here some of the dialogue just didn't work for me. Whilst it was just weird seeing Ezra exclaim "Crap!" and "Damn it!", the changes to Kanan's confrontation with the Grand Inquisitor were much more of a problem. It could be that this was a Japanese adaptation of an English story which has then been translated back into English but the dialogue just didn't have the same impact.
Overall, a nice conclusion to the trilogy of adaptations but absolutely no substitute for actually watching the series itself.
Volume Three of the Star Wars Rebels manga adapts the tenth, thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth episodes of the show into comic form, covering the conclusion of the first season. It was a lot of fun to relive the adventures of the Ghost crew in this format, and I'm very sad that it's the last installment of the series.
As mentioned in my review of Volume Two, it's been a while since I've watched the show, but from my memory it seems like all of the major story beats are accurately translated into the comic. The plots felt familiar, even if some of the particular lines of dialog have been adjusted to better match the medium. It made things a bit humorous to read at times, but it all made sense in the given context.
If you're a fan of Star Wars Rebels and comics or manga, this is definitely a fun series to explore. I'm very happy to have picked it up, and wish there was more coming. If anything, it makes me want to go back and re-watch the show all over again!
I really like how this came together, this was better than the last book it developed well. Again, great way to introduce kids to Star Wars but also the manga aspect of it makes it really fun. It’s fun to see these characters in this light with their own perspectives. Dark side looks cool, I wish there was another book of adventures to lead up to the end but I like that it ended how it did. I liked the relationship growing with ezra and kanan too, there’s more depth, and also ezra isn’t annoying anymore. Mostly. Spoilers now: Really ended right when Ahsoka came in huh 😭 I wish I saw more than two pages of manga Ahsoka 😭 one story with her and then end
Short and fun. The art style is gorgeous, but like the two volumes before it this just feels like an abridged version of Star Wars Rebels the show. With this being the final volume I can’t help but wonder who this series is for. It pretty much just covers the entirety of Rebels season 1, so I don’t really understand what the point of it is. I mean maybe to get people interested in the show? But that ended like 3 years ago. Nonetheless volume 3 was still a cute read.
The time jumps are REALLY jarring, and if you’ve seen the series then the books read like the quick recaps at the beginnings. The first two did a good job weaving things together, but this last one cuts across whole seasons and tries to stitch them into a cohesive tale. It’s, lackluster at best. The art style remains gorgeous, and the basics of the characters are kept, but you don’t see the full ferocity of characters like Hera and Sabine, in favor of building Kanan and Ezra up.

A decent manga (webcomic) adaptation of the final Rebels season one episodes. I am intrigued by the decision to adapt these to this medium, and I find this a weird purchase considering they only ever adapted the first season (and a much-abridged version of season 1 at that). The art wasn't my favorite, but it is by no means a bad adaptation. I liked this Vol about as much as the first two. It doesn't really add anything to the series, but doesn't hurt the series in any way.
My favorite volume of the Rebels manga so far. Also, perhaps, the most inconsistent. Some dialogue changes are less than stellar, but there were enough highlights to bump it up to 4* for me personally. Especially the crew's thoughts on rescuing Kanan. Actual Chopper dialogue *chef's kiss*.
This volume was a fun wrap up the Rebels Mangas, adapting different story arcs from the series. These are a very fun way to re-experience the events of Rebels TV series.
