It’s a pretty little book and it looks great next to Sacred Crystals and Sacred Essential Oils, but there’s not much in the way of info or instruction. It briefly mentions vague uses for each plant but doesn’t tell how each plant works, what plant is best for each ailment, or how to administer them. If you like pretty pictures and decorative books, it’s a nice little volume with beautiful photography, but if you’re looking for actually informative reading, skip it.

An outstanding field guide thanks to the clear photos of each specimen. All parts of the plants are displayed; as a whole, and with each part laid out (buds, flowers, leaves).
I docked it one star because of the forty featured herbs, detailed instruction for useful preparations are only included for sixteen of them.

I've got lots of herb books but this one is a quick read. It is concisely written and helped me identify three plants that may be causing me an issue with the little blip at the bottom of each entry that warns about pre-existing conditions to be careful about with each herb. This is definitely a good addition to your herb book shelf!

A list of over 30 herbs with their descriptions and application. Having started my own herb garden, I have found this book to be very useful.

A good starter book for medicinal herbs. I like that each herb listed is simple, includes which part of the plant can be used, and how to use it medicinally (external/internal) plus any cautionary actions. Includes gorgeous ACTUAL photographs which is super helpful as I’m learning to identify herbs.

Cons: there doesn’t seem to be any order and if they’re grouped, it’s not specified. I almost missed the last herb listed Ginger which came after Vervain. The photographer took my breath away. I had no idea ginger was so exotic looking.
