MP3 CD Format In the tradition of cult literary icon Donald Goines, Ice Cream for Freaks is written with a realness that accurately depics the bleak conditions of the story's urban backdrop. The main character, Nathaniel Wilson, better known in his middle class Queens neighborhood as ''Ice,'' has a reputation of being a brutal and daring stick-up kid. A seemingly well-planned robbery proves deadly to Ice when the victim happens to be ''Supreme'' -- a rising star in a violent New York drug cartel. The robbery ignites a backlash of unpredictable murders, rapes, and mayhem throughout the streets of Queens. When Ice lands in an upstate New York prison, both his reputation and his manhood come into question after an unforgettable and terrorizing encounter in his cell with a prison homo-thug called Mother Dear. Part two to this novel is titled Ice Cold Vengeance .
Contrary to my rating I didn't hate this book 😅, it's just not my cup of tea. It's a decent book and it kept me interested, but I only finished it because it was recommendation and they were so excited to talk to me about it so I have 100% effort 😆. These books don't interest me because I see stuff like this (except for the whole prison thing 😅) in real life so I don't find it interesting. Nice job tho.
Lots of action drama all over the place. First time reading anything by thie author. I have to say it was a ok book not bad at all.
Ice is a stick up kid that basely live to rob others to make a living. He ends up robbing the wrong person by the name of Preme and Preme sends his guys to find the one that robbed him.
Some how Preme white girl name Trina has a friend that knowns some guy that goes by Ice that robbers people.
So from there Preme do all he can to get his hands on the girl so she can give him information on who this cat name Ice is.
Later on Ice ends up in jail and get himself into trouble where he become the outcase because everything picking up the wrong clue on Ice and what they hear.
Ice get's out of jail and ends up going into the drug game with one of his ex ceilmates Kendew. So Ice ends up finding out more information about a guy he knew back in the days name Rizz.
Mostly this book is like he knowns this person and that person knowns this person and so on and so on. It wasn't confusing to me but, it's was getting to the point I prodicted who was going to know who as I kept reading.
Then at the end everything comes together and alot of blood shed happens.
I read this book several years ago and wanted to see if I would still enjoy it. The author is compared to Donald Goins and since I have actually read DG books by now.... this book is definitely not DG comparable. Not bad but there is no comparison. I would like to have seen more character and story development. There was a lot of tell and not enough show. DG books took place decades ago but did not feel dated and many of the early 00's references pulled me out of the story (clothing brands and music). There were many characters in the story and I didn't feel like I really knew any of them.
Well, it's full of Drama and scandalous situations and it will definitely keep you entertain. It's great read If your into drugs, sex and violence. But I like it!
