Twilight's End

Rate this book
Entombed in a secret laboratory, it is the powerful warrior Khan, Chieftain of the Kota people, who awakens Dionne, a woman bio-engineered to be the ark of humanity--the savior of mankind. Awakened a thousand years after the fall of civilization, Dionne needs Khan to help her bestow the gift of renewal upon mankind. But Khan is her nemesis as well as her ally, for she can not belong only to one man, and yet she finds the barbarian's caresses nearly impossible to resist. Rating: Graphic sex, explicit language, profanity, some violence.

A little of that misunderstanding going on with the romance, but overall a pretty good story. I wasn't very sympathetic for the heroine Dionne, she was just too centered on her mission and ignored warnings and the environment wanting to set out on her own, which ended up being a little ridiculous. Dionne is awakened 1000 years later by Khan who figures out how to get to her after many warriors have died trying. They think she's a goddess but she was actually sent from the "smarter" past to help these savages. And the end of the story doesn't seem to change that idea, which I didn't care for her that much.

Hmm.. Not as impressive as I expected it to be but it was fine for the purpose I had in mind. The lead female, Dionne, isn't particularly lovable and you'll feel pretty sorry for Khan after the first few interactions between them but, hey, there's a happy ending and all.
