Christmas in Chicago has never been so warm ... My Christmas list did not include a broken heart, freezing temperatures, or my tree stuck in the door to my apartment complex, but that's what I got. Just when I thought Santa had failed me, I got something I never thought to ask for ... him.
This is a fun Christmas novella that was originally available in the Christmas in the City anthology!

I loved this just as much as I did the first time that I read it! Harlow is having The Worst Week Ever, having been cheated on by her boyfriend of six years. Now she’s trying to fit a stubborn Christmas tree through the door of her new apartment building, to no avail. Enter handsome stranger Michael, and her night turns around! He helps her get the tree inside and then they shop for everything they need for a tree trimming party. He ditches his family party, and hunkers down for the night with Harlow. Full of funny banter, adorable flirting, a steamy scene, and match making antics that prove fate is real. Loved it!
This was such a cute, spicy, kismet, short read! & I'm really happy I read imperfect match before this one, so I got a better understanding of all of the characters and their personalities.
The fact that he helps her set up her first Christmas tree, buys her ornaments, and then gets snowed in with her .... exactly.
You get: • Holiday Novella • Spicy Romance • One Night Stand To More • It's Fate • Forced Proximity • It's Never Been Like This • Snowed In
I think you should pick this one up! Available on KU, ebook, and paperback.
I knew that this was a quick holiday novella, but they have their meet cute, their insta attraction, and their "maybe it was fate" moments, but where's the rest of the story? It ends at 54%. Even for a novella, it felt incomplete.
I liked it. It was super short and cute….and a little spicy. Harlow and Michael were perfect characters. They “clicked” from the very beginning and made me laugh so many times. Also, who would have thought that they would unexpectedly find each other before planned meeting 🤫
Ps. There is also a short but not finished story about Willow and Reid.
This was a cute quick spicy holiday romance to change things up a bit. The story is only about 67 pages long and also includes a sneak peak of Imperfect Match, which introduces the world that this book takes place in and was written prior. I haven’t read Imperfect Match but now I might go back and add it to my TBR since it’s on KU.
This was a spiced up version of a Hallmark Christmas movie. And there is actually dialogue in the book about Hallmark movies being closed door, while this relationship was not! 😂
If you want a super short story, that gives you the holiday vibes with a bit of spice, add this to your list this season.
I really enjoyed this fun holiday novella set in Chicago featuring Harlow and Michael - two neighbors who have a meet cute in the lobby of their apartment building as one tries to bring up a giant Christmas tree. Insta-lust and holiday love plus snowed in steamy times has these two matchmaking themselves. Fun and festive and just a plain good time. I'm excited to read more about Willow and Reid too since we only got a teaser at the end of this novella and I want more of these best friends who try to fight their feelings.
Tropes: - holiday romance - meet cute - neighbors (she just moved in) - rich hero - heroine who is grumpy about christmas
POV: first person - dual
Type: interconnected stand-alone novella
It was a lot shorter than I thought it would be. The story was less than 60% of the ebook and the rest was a sneak peek into another story set in the same world.
For a book that’s basically 70 pages I devoured it. Loved Harlow & Michael and wanted more more more!! Highly recommend this on your tbr. I hope the authors continue their story, I loved it that much!
Oh how I wish this was a full length book!! Everything about it was so so cute, but the ending gave me whiplash because the book ended on page 68. I was only 54% in on my kindle, but the rest was a preview for the Imperfect Match (an interconnected book in this world- which I’m definitely going to have to go and read now).
What I loved: Hilarious banter Meet cute Full circle, everything happens for a reason moment Loveable main characters Christmas!!
Absolutely loved this!!! I hated that it was short, but it was the perfect short read before bed. The beginning of how to the 2 characters met and how the book ended was just amazing!!! Fate works in mysterious ways.
The introduction to Michael and Harlow’s story is entertaining and totally relatable.
The yearly fight with the Christmas tree is real.
The characters were amusing and the storyline was easy.
It definitely has the Christmas spirit vibe.
I do think it could have been a bit longer. I do prefer my Christmas novellas to hit all the spots with the romance, connection, pull on the heartstrings and fully captivate me.
This didn’t really have that but it’s definitely a spicy novella and a refreshing palate cleanser.
This was a really good Christmas novella. Its a Meet Cute with sexytimes, good characters and epilogue! Both Michael and Harlow are good main characters with instant chemistry, laughter and good storyline! ✌
When a ONS turns into a HEA! Harlow and Michael meeting was destiny, courtesy of a stuck Christmas tree. Love the play on words between the characters names and the authors names. Easy read.
This was a cute Christmas romance. I wanted to give it 5 stars, but that ending happened so abruptly that I just can't. And I was only at 58% of the book! The rest of it was a sneak peek at, I'm assuming, books 2, Reid and Willows story.
I did love how the main characters had the last names of the authors as their first names. FMC was Harlow and MMC was Michael. 🥰

This was such a fun holiday read! I’m glad I ended my 2022 reading with this story. I loved the characters and the humor. Everything was perfectly sweet and engaging. ❤️💚
This was a cute, quick and spicy novella! It begins with Harlow struggling to get her real Christmas tree into her brand new apartment. Michael a handsome stranger offers to help her! This also leads to him ditching his family party to buy decorations and a stand for Harlow’s tree. These two had great banter and share a steamy night together! It has such a crazy twist of fate at the end!
