To Kill a Nightmare #2

Twilight Terrors

Rate this book
It’s hard to build an empire on a crumbling foundation, but my parents are determined to try.

With my wedding to Valen nearing, they can taste the power, and they’re practically drooling.

Meanwhile, I’ve got secrets piling up on top of secrets, and it’s only a matter of time before the whole house of cards comes crashing down. While they want to build a pure slayer dynasty upon my back, I’m busy building my family of misfits and battling a threat they won’t accept is real.

But nightmares don’t care if you believe in them. They’ll feast on your fear either way. I thought we could chase them back to Faerie, but betrayal strikes when I least expect it, and now I’m wary of who to trust.

Add in my friend Rippley losing her magic, Dane almost losing his life, Valen somehow becoming my rock, and Bastian throwing me for a loop, and my life has turned into utter pandemonium.

Can I find a way to save the world, claim my shifter mate, keep my fiancé, and figure out what to do with the fae? Or will everything I care about topple to the ground?

Twilight Terrors is the second in a trilogy. This is a why-choose romance with laugh out loud moments, spice, and general chaos.

This book is fantastic!! I was so angry for Greer and so proud of her at the same time. She has been raised by the most abusive bitch of a mother and indifferent waste of skin of a father and has still come out of it with a huge heart.

Greer’s boys are the best ☺️. I’m totally with Bash and want to off Greer’s mother. Soon please 🙏. That bitch is unbelievable.

Greer’s inner dialogue and the interactions between the boys are hilarious 😆. They are totally turning into the family that Greer deserves.

Onto book 3.

This series is decently good. Some spoilers below.

I was a bit disappointed in this book because there was so much missed opportunity here. Bastian is by far my favorite character. However, he was introduced late in book 1 and then he's barely in book 2 because he's imprisoned/being impersonated by his evil brother for the first half of this book. By the time he made it back to Greer and the other guys, I feel like the authors rushed his relationship with Greer to catch up with the other 2 guys, yet Bash and Greer did not really have any chemistry yet. They just went from 0 to 100 too quickly.

I also thought Greer got worse in this book, and I didn't like her in book 1. I'm disappointed that all of these side characters keep getting introduced and then dropped super quickly. Nothing is really fleshed out--the pacing is just so rushed in terms of character relationship-building but so slow in terms of plot.

I loved the first book. Somehow, the authors have made me love this one even more. It’s filled with intrigue, machinations, and double-crosses around every corner. Greer is frantically chasing down answers to what’s going on, but the enemies closest to her will do anything to thwart her and make sure their plans succeed. Also of note, the cliff-hanger at the end is steep, and even though I was sure it was coming, it still caught me off guard and left me howling in frustration. “You can’t leave me there!” In other words, I’m more than a little desperate to read what happens next.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the authors.

I've been excitedly awaiting the second book in the To Kill A Nightmare series. When reading the first book I instantly connected to Greer and loved the other characters as well, the plot was steamy, adventurous, and humorous. I absolutely loved it but I loved the second book even more. Twilight Terrors was phenomenal.

Greer is still this badass warrior but she's showing her vulnerable side by opening up and letting people in. Greer slowly starts to realize she isn't alone, with lovers and friends, that she is forming a strong bond with. Unfortunately, a horrible series of events leads to Greer being at a devastating low, she's losing herself and it's devastating to see. I feel for Greer, she has such a big heart only for it to be broken time and time again.

Things are fantastic between Greer and Dane. Things are moving forward at a steady pace, there is no doubt about how much they care about each other. Things with Bastian are tricky, as all things with the fae are, but things work themselves out and so does things with Valan. Greer isn't the only one opening up and it turns out that Greer and Valen understand each other in a way that no one else can. The secrets are out and Valen has stopped being a jerk, the sweet caring moments between him and Greer allow their relationship to grow.

This group is everything. I see now how Greer and her guys fit together and how Rippley fit in with them as well. This book was full of humor, seriously their banter game was on point. I've never laughed so hard, the Goldilocks conversation was the best. There were good moments, but then things went to crap real quick. I knew Greer's parents were a piece of work but the more I saw of Greer's mom in this book the more I realized how truly evil Bianca Westbrook truly is and I don't mean that lightly. Greer is continuously being abused by her mother and it's taking its toll. Karma can't come quick enough.

Twilight Terrors was an excellent read, the story just keeps getting better. I loved all the sweet moments but a lot of revelations happen and towards the end, it was a dumpster fire. Things got really bad for Greer and the guys, I had freaking tears in my eyes. The book ended on one of the most devastating cliffhangers I've ever read and I need it fixed. I am hoping beyond hope that the wait for the next book is long because I don't know how I'm gonna survive the heartache until then.

Oh dear Lord! Could it get more tense? Could it get more horrifying? Could the ending be more of a cliffhanger if it tried? A resounding NO to all of this! My head is threatening to explode, my heart has stopped beating... I'm not even sure how to start writing this review! From the beginning perhaps? Ok, deep breaths, here goes...This book follows on from book I seemlessly, so it's tense right off the bat!

Bastian is a gorgeous character, I love how he tries to fit into a world he has no clue about. He's a cool Fae, who thinks killing someone is the answer to many problems, he genuinely doesn't understand that it's not acceptable to kill willy nilly. Love his character, I really do. But he's in a whole lot of trouble, he's trapped and cannot escape his twin, who's really messed up! And of course, impetus, impulsive Greer comes to his rescue once she realises the situation. Loved these scenes. Actually, I loved all the scenes. The huge bear Shifter Dane is kind, compassionate and generous, in every way generous! Not only to Greer and her desires but to his pack or anyone who needs help. And then there's Valen, a Slayer, forced by HIS father into marrying Greer. His "conversation with Dane about Goldilocks had me giggling, it even had me rethinking the fairytale. All of them have deep secrets, all of them feel remorse, and all of them are completely besotted with Greer. As is she...

Greer is one of the most successful demon Slayer, ever, yet she is so insecure, which is no surprise since her parents, especially her mother, have been belittling her, disregarding her, disparaging her, her entire life. She feels unworthy of love, of friendship, of, well, anything. Yet she craves genuine affection, which thankfully she gets from three awesome guys, a Shifter, a fellow Slayer and a Fae, who love and adore her and have her back. If only it were that simple...Greer is forced into a marriage she doesn't want, under threat by her despicable mother, no, you have NO idea just how vile this mother is! Even I was shocked that a mother could resort to... what she resorted to! Everything is taken away from Greer, everything! But I know she's a fighter, I know she will find a way, she has to, for my sake, for my sanity!

I will do my utmost to preserve my sanity until the next book hits my kindle, which cannot come fast enough!

I knew when I started the first book in this series that this series was gonna be a hit or a mis. I love both authors working on this series. I love fantasy stories. I love slayers. But I also prefer my books more emotional than action-packed. Which mostly has to do with the fact that I don't envision a thing while reading a book, but can feel the emotions of the characters. However, I liked the first book and was therefore glad I also got an arc for the second book!

This second book surprised me in so many ways. And all of those were good ways. This book has everything. It has some nail biting action scenes. It has some heartwarming romantic scenes. It has some intriguing mystery and danger. It also has the most painful heartbreak I've ever encountered in a book. I don't wanna give too much away, but the last few chapters shattered my heart into a million pieces and I have no idea how the authors are gonna recollect them all. Ever.

Although the main mystery, what is going on with the rifts and the nightmares, is not really moving forward in this book, the main character does grow quite a lot in this book. Don't get me wrong. I love bad-ass heroines knowing how to fight their own battles, but I only love them even more if they're pushed towards their breaking point and have to admit that maybe they do need other people to fight with them, for them and next to them.

Our heroine is not the only one who gets to shine and becomes more and more complex and interesting with every chapter. The heroes that didn't get much background are getting more backstory in this book too. And all of those stories are, one way or another, tragic. The last chapters might have shattered my heart completely, but along the way there were quite a few chapters already slowly fracturing it.

I want, and need, MORE!

In this instalment nightmares take a backseat while the gang deals with other pressing issues such as: a surprise fae rescue mission, the most horrible Momster ever (seriously I could not hate her more), characters losing powers, a surprise wedding, and the evolution of Greer & her chosen mates.

Something got unlocked for Valen and I say: throw away the key! I definitely liked him already but I never expected him to become my new favourite character. King of the clapback and so in control of every situation. I swoon! And then when he dropped his trousers, I dropped my kindle! I did not see *that* coming 🥵

Plus the sweetest little flirtation between side characters 😍 I’d predicted Rippley might meet her mate at the pack dinner but what actually happened was so much better! And that’s why I’m a reader and not a writer 🤣

Be prepared for a lot of vulnerability and hurt though. Two of our characters have abusive parents and they are actively manipulating their children. But blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb and Greer’s found family is so magical. I can’t wait for them to set the world on fire - slayer council be damned!!

Been really looking forward to the second book in the To Kill A Nightmare series and I wasn't disappointed. It was a wild ride from start to finish. I absolutely adore Greer, and the banter between Valen and Dale is completely on point, and hilarious. There's betrayal, loss and action galore with this one, and one hell of a cliffhanger ending that left me chomping at the bit for the next one.

Greer is definitely one of my favourite FMCs I've read in a book this year. No matter how many times she is told she's worthless, it does affect her but she seems to come out of it stronger, even when her helion of a mother does everything she can to bring her down. That and now she has three wonderful guys who will support her no matter what and tell her she is worth more than she knows.

Can't wait for the next one in the series.

This second book does shred a bit more light into the complex situation with the fae and of course, it does offer some interesting elements when it comes to Bastian's background and family. I do like quite a few of the side characters and of course, it was nice to see that some of them started to be in friendlier terms with the slayers.
Now, I continue to dislike the FMC. In fact, I like her less than in the first book, which is a bloody shame, but it is what it is. I will finish the series, but this is one of the rare occasions where I simply do not like the main female character. Her decisions are rash and that makes her look rather immature. I love Valen, he has been a gem for me. I did find the bickering between him and Bastian funny at times, so at least the MMCs are genuinely decent characters.

Blimey is Greer's (FMC) mother ever in need of a good slap!! The woman is the definition of toxic and Greer's father isnt much better. Theyre not much of a family to Greer thats for sure. That ending though had me wanting to drop kick my kindle big time!! After that ending to book 1 i was eager to see what would happen in this one. It was a bloody brilliant twist. The fast paced action and the plot twists kept me on my toes throughout this book. This series just keeps getting better and better. Im looking forward to book 3 now

Omg what a phenomenal story. Wow. So this is the second book in the series. I have been eagerly waiting for this one. Did not disappoint. Absolutely loving all the characters. But holy heck her mom is a winner. Not.
I do love Greer though and her guys. Entire storyline is mind blowing. Definitely a must read. So need the next one!!!

I am enjoying this take on slayers (no vampire for a change). Inter character communication has really improved due to character development. Greer’s relationship with her parents continues to deteriorate in an epic fashion. The cliffhanger ending makes me anticipate the next book in the series.

⭐️Brief Summary
Book 2 in a series of 3 books all the same characters storyline.
✨We open where the first book left off. Bastians betrayal and a host of Nightmares to fight. Greer is really disheartened by Bastians betrayal but is all as it appears?
✨This book continues with the growing threat of the Nightmare monsters, the open rifts to Faerie and the wedding plans. Greer and her men navigate their new relationship dynamic breaking down walls and opening up more with each other. There’s lots of bromance bonding between her men. And Bastian is adjusting to the human world.

Overall Opinion:

-The opening fight is hilarious Greer is so pissed about having to fight her naked parents that she gets a little manic. It’s so funny Her banter about it is LMAO! 🤣

-Cutting off Rippley cheating ex dick… Danes reaction to it 😂…….
✨I cut cheating-ex-nightmare’s dick off. The creature howls, and Dane’s bear stops swiping his massive paws at the two abominations he’s fighting to stare in horrified pride at the dick that falls to the grass with a satisfying thump. When his eyes meet mine, I shrug. “Don’t worry, teddy bear. I’d never hurt your beautiful dick.”✨

-There’s definitely a bromance happening with Dane and Valen that’s hilarious 😂 they spend lots of time just getting to know each other and bonding over their love for Greer.
-Their convo about the airport bathroom incident 😅
-The Arguments about Goldilocks 🤣..
So many Goldilocks jokes it’s hilarious……

✨”This porridge is too cold,” Valen says in a soft, feminine tone. I drop my eyebrows and squint. “It’s rude as hell to quote Goldilocks to a bear.” Valen winces. “Sorry. I didn’t know.” “Fuck that little blonde bitch,” I say with a gruff growl.✨🤣

✨I open my door and climb in. Valen reaches for the door handle, but I lock it. He scowls at me through the glass, and I lean back, content to watch him simmer in frustration. “Open the door.” “Not until you admit Goldilocks is the worst.” He rolls his eyes. “You’re obnoxious.” I turn on the car. “It’s a long walk home.” Reaching for the gearshift, I give him a wicked smile to let him know how serious I am. We can’t share a lover if he sides with the little blonde jerk. “Fine. Goldilocks shouldn’t have stolen the food and broken things, but I still maintain that she probably had a messed-up home life.”✨😂🤣

✨”Who is Goldilocks?” Bastian asks. “Should I kill her?” I can’t help but laugh at that. “You do realize you can’t kill everyone, right?” He gives a noncommittal shrug. “No need to kill her. Valen here is sending her to therapy,” Dane quips✨😂

-Bastians fascination with the human world is hilarious and so freaking cute! Clothing, sexting, TV shows and spaghetti….so funny.
He’s got a soft side and so sweet and vulnerable too. His story is sad and I’m so glad am he opened up to Greer.
He also threatens to kill anyone who even remotely annoys Greer💕….
✨”If you want her tonight, you’ll have to share.” He pats Dane playfully on the cheek. “Don’t make me show up at your home and put a knife to your dick while you sleep. I don’t think our woman would like that, much.”✨

📖 Pages: 300

🦹🏻‍♂️ Hero:
DANE 🧸-AKA Teddy Bear- he’s amazing in this book. Wait… ok he is just Amazing 🤩. But really he is the heart of this Harem the support they each need and an absolute gem.

Valen 🗡️- AKA Slayer Bae- He’s opened up a lot in this book- not as much as I would like- but he’s become a Rock for Greer. He’s stands by her sticks up for her and has definitely fallen in love with her💗. He’s really starts to shine in this book.

Bastian🧚🏻‍♀️- AKA Fae Bae- He’s definitely ALL in with Greer from the start. He’s adjusting to the human world while offering his undying devotion to Greer. He’s definitely a huge comic relief. He’s makes it out of his LARPing clothes this book😂. But the pickled pecker is still on the table 🫣.

🦸‍♀️ Heroin:
For those who didn’t like her in book 1 you will love her now. She’s a lot more humble but still has her strength and has finally allowed her men in 💯 as well as her new and old friends.

💭 POV:
First person multiple- but I felt we needed more from the men this time. It’s was mostly Greers POV☹️ and we had very little from the men.

🔥 Burn Rate:
Now in book 2 I would say fast burn with all her men. They have crossed the lines to romantic and are not going back.

😡/😍 Emotion Level:

❤️‍🔥 Sexy Times:
Sex with Valen at 20%- can you say Jacobs ladder🔥
Official MATING with Dane at 65%💕
Sexy times with Bastian… not yet😢

💥 Descriptive sex:
of course 😅 it’s juicy and just right

🌓 Push/Pull:
NONE …Although I wish Valen would open up more and let Greer be there fro him when it comes to his mum. I was disappointed when he pushed Greer away but open up to Dane about it.

☠️ OW Drama:
NONE

🤮 OW or OM Sex/Fluids exchange/DNA:
NONE

🤬 Cheating:
NONE

😅 OM drama:
NONE

👰🏼‍♀️ Virgin:
NOPE, no one is a V.

😑 Separation:
none

🗡️ Triggers:
-Physical and emotional abuse from a parental figure.
-Violence

⚠️ Safety:
Safe!

💕 Epilogue:
None

❤️ HEA:
Bad Cliffhanger

🤔 Closing Summery:
I didn’t like Greer the last 20% of the book. Her mother does monstrous things to her. But instead of her usual strength she curls into a ball. Makes ALL the wrong decisions that only make everything worse. I couldn’t stand to read her weak and whiny POV. Her mother NEVER showed her love so why she is so shocked is beyond me. I hope she doesn’t stay this way for the next book.

Greer and her Teddy bear, Slay bae, and Fae bae are back it again in Rory Miles and Harper Frey's second book of the To Kill A Nightmare series, Twilight Terrors.

_________________________________________

First of all, I love Greer's harem. Second, where tf do I get me some????

Here we have Bastian, who joined us near the second half of the first book.

Since he's not accustomed to Earthly matters, he's always offering to kill anyone who causes their family inconvenience (sweet!) and funny.

Then we have the two bickering OGs, Dane and Valen.

They get on the wrong foot but immediately hit it off with the banters and quips that bromance exploded everywhere.

I'm glad they're less possessive and hoity-toity than your average reverse harem. They keep me reading tbh.

"It keeps bumping it's flat nose into the door like a glitching rumba," - loved the humour in this book!

I have to say thank you to the authors for adding a quick recap of what happened in book 1, I love that this was there and wished other authors did this more - it's a huge help to my memory.

Wow, what a book, I thought book 1 was good but this one was even better. We carry on from where book 1 left off. The nightmares are still appearing, but nobody else seems to be taking them seriously.

This book mostly concentrates on the relationships Greer is building with her guys and her friends. We get to see all the conversations with everyone and can truly see them all bonding with each other, and I think a lot of authors miss this, opportunity, but I loved it. I admit that I laughed out loud many times whilst reading - especially the Goldilocks debate, genius! The banter and camaraderie between everyone really showed the family dynamics. Greer finally starts to realise that she doesn't have to be alone anymore.

Greer, her guys and her friends make for a mismatched bunch, but that's also what makes them such a great team.

But then in steps her 'mother', who is cruel for the sake of being cruel, and as much as Greer knows she shouldn't listen, she can't help herself. How can someone hate someone else so much? She really does outdo herself towards the end of this book, which sets the wheels in motion for the cliffhanger.

There are so many politics at play in the slayer world and her mother is determined to play them to her advantage, but that means Greer and Valen are forced to play to the game too, when all they want to do is go out an kill the nightmares.

Really looking forward to book 3.

Twilight Terrors is the second book in Rory Miles’s and Harper Frey’s To Kill a Nightmare series. Greer’s story continues as she faces off dangerous nightmares, and deals with the “monster” that is her mother. While the drama has been toned down when it comes to Greer and her men, things aren’t finished. She’s about to discover some dangerous things concerning one, and will have to deal with the threat that her mother continues to hold over her head. Prepare for a lot of insanity with this book.
Twilight Terrors is calmer by comparison to book one. But don’t let the “calmness” lure you into a state of comfort. The nightmares are still trolling around, but their true origin will be revealed. Greer has some happy moments in this book, but nothing lasts forever. Her mother is intent on ruining Greer’s life and if you don’t hate this woman before this book by the end of it...you’re going to be with Bastian in how you feel about her.
Of course, there is a ton of humor and you are going to love every single second of it. The more you read of this series, you’re going to be nuts about these nuts. LOL! When these two authors came together and created these characters, and this storyline, they hit the jackpot. Beware the ending though. It’s going to have you screaming. We need answers!!! They, unfortunately, can’t come soon enough. Chaos rules, but this series is epicly awesome. I can’t wait to find out what happens next.
This book rates 5 out of 5 stars.

Honestly if I didn’t think Greer would stab me I would be hugging and holding onto this girl for life! She definitely needs all the love and support she can get 🤗
It picks up instantly after the last book and the betrayal they faced, which makes Greer question her instincts 😣 a trip into Faerie after said betrayer ends in disastrous consequences for Ripley and Greer shows her development as a friend in helping her through….and finding a way to cheer Riley up - the gym scene 😜😄
However for Greer, the betrayal truly stings, so Dane and Valen really step up and show her she’s ok to be vulnerable but that she’s also got this, yet the betrayal is not what it seems and thankfully Greer gets her Fae 🥰 her three lovers really show Greer she is everything despite what her parents say! And honestly they are the worst…despite all the evidence of the Nightmares they refuse to believe they’re real….what’s more Bash may have a connection to those who are releasing them into the world 😫😫 but honestly nothing can top what Bianca has done to Greer….it’s her worst nightmare come to life, or so she thought until the wedding! Honestly my heart broke 😥
Be prepared for all the emotions in this book - and I need the last one ASAP to see how Greer and her men get out of this 😬

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spice: 🌶️/5
MFC: I like Greer a lot more in this book.
MMC(s): I love them!
Plot: 3/5
Book cover: 3.5/5
Would I buy a physical copy?: Maybe. Depends on how the series plays out.

Why aren’t we killing Bianca again? I haven’t heard a single good reason yet as to why that awful woman is still controlling Greer’s life. It would solve AT LEAST 85% of our problems and Bas is more than willing to do so.

I definitely liked Greer much more this book. She ate herself a nice slab of that humble pie I mentioned in my last review, she opened up more to her men AND forged a deeper bond with Rippley! (Lowkey disappointed Crash isn’t joining our harem, but love that he and Ripp seem to be hitting it off). My only grievance with Greer is this annoyingly constant need to let her mother live. She’s literally been a POS from the get go, whyyyy are we entertaining this?! Hopefully NOW that Bianca has once again proven she will not receive a mother of the year award, we’ll get revenge.

Dane, my sweet bear. God, I love him so damn much and every time he talks about his mother my heart cracks. Same with Valen and Bas too! But their bromance had me giggling 😂 Kindaaa wondering if we’re gonna be all enemies to lovers with Exy boy or if he’s going to just be the enemy. 🤔

Looking forward to book 3!

Wow, this book was the best of surprises. After the cliffhanger on book one, I had high hopes that Twilight Terrors would be filled with adrenaline surging excitement and anticipation. I was not disappointed. Our motley crew of slayers, shifters, Fae and witches continued on their quest to solve the riddle of the nightmares and Bastian’s betrayal. There’s fights, mysteries and magic, everything a fan of paranormal stories could want. The connection between Valen and Greer continues to grow along with the spice. Dean continues to be a supportive delight. The biggest surprise though, was how much Twolight Terrors got me in the feels. Greer’s mother and Valen’s father are both a real piece of work and really need to get what’s coming to them. If angest and heartbreak are your jam, you’ll need Kleenex close by for the last few chapters. I have to admit my favourite part of the book is the grown bromance between Dean and Valen is so much fun and will definitely cause trouble. A word of advice… don’t bring up Goldilocks to a bear shifter.

Twilight Terrors is a fantastic follow-up to Shadow Slayer and I can’t wait for book three.

I am so invested in this story, I can’t with that ending! I may have let a screech out. The relationship development between Greer and Valen and Dane was amazing and I loved the growth Greer started to experience once someone started to show her that she was more than what her parents ever said she was. And while it hurt my heart to see how she tired to ignore and deny the emotions she was starting to feel - she does not see her self worth ,her parents have been absolutely awful to her, her men never once let that deter them, they continue to show her how much she means to them, and I really loved that. Enter the Bastian fiasco and things get super interesting! I just adore the dynamics that have developed between these men and how much they adore Greer, which makes that cliffhanger of an ending that more intense! That being said this is a fantastic addition to the series, the drama, action and steam is great, the story is well paced and full of twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. There is never a dull moment in Greers life. I am so so eager for the next installment!

Buckle up readers — you’re in for a thrilling emotional roller coaster with this book! Greer’s journey continues in this second installment and we are thrust into even ore action, adventure, danger, and steam. Greer, Valen, Dane, and Rippley are reeling from Bastian’s betrayal and must navigate moving forward surrounded by danger.

“Your never getting rid of me, teddy bear.”

Oh Dane. He is 100% my favorite in the harem. He’s a big bad bear shifter but he’s a soft cuddly teddy bear with his mate. Don’t get me wrong, I love the relationships that Greer has with her other men, but Dane takes the cake for me. I’m so glad that Greer opened up to her men because she has always been so closed off.

Greer’s parents are awful but her mother is absolutely vile. Eryx is also the WORST. I’m definitely looking forward to Greer’s revenge!

Tropes: Paranormal romance, fantasy romance, reverse harem, enemies-to-lovers, arranged marriage, fated mates, demons, shifters, bears, fae.
Heat: 4/5

Thank goodness Greer is such a badass, because otherwise I'd wonder how she'd manage to put up with so much BS. Her mother deserves a prize for the mom of the year for how she treats her daughter, and father is just a tad better, being mostly silent observer and letting Bianca have her way. AJ? Not worth wasting air for mentioning his sorry existence. Yet maybe the biggest challenges to Greer's composure and peace is the situation around Bastian - because what Greer thinks and what is reality are two vastly different things.
I love and admire Greer, absolutely enjoy the banter within the growing harem, totally root for Rippley, and melt when I see how much both Greer and Valen progress in fighting their own demons by trusting the other one. Sharing the baggage definitely helps. And Eryx is an interesting addition to the game, shuffling the cards and adding another layer to the complexity of the story. I also very much enjoyed exploring the faerie realm with Greer. Great series so far.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "TWILIGHT TERROR" What an excellent riviting intense intriguing emotional rollercoaster adter ride full of secrets, abuse, humor, steam, angst, threats, twists that have you on the edge of your seat.
Greer is marrying Valen who's a Slayer he was force into wedding her because of his father, Bastian is a gorgeous Fae with his own problem he's alot if trouble trying to escape his twin who's totally messed up Greer rescues him, Dane is a Bear Shifter kind, generous, compassionate to Greer & his pack or anyone that needs help love him, they all have their own secrets & head over heels for Greer.
I definitely recommend to get this amazing extremely well written story poor Greer what she goes through with her evil bi*ch of a mother you'll be shocked at the things she does, thank goodness her men adore her make her feel loved & have her back.
I'm so looking forward to then next book ASAP "MIDNIGHT MONSTERS" after that shocking cliffhanger that will blow you away it can't come soon enough I need to know what's going to happen.

Entertaining

I liked this book. I loved the fmc, she had such a deep strength to her that I admired. She puts up with consistent negative and derogatory remarks from those who are supposed to be family and bites back all her normal snark. I just wanted to yell at her to show that back bone of hers that she shows everyone that else. I’m so glad that her and Valen are getting along and that the evil twin secret is out. The last 10 or so chapters really went downhill though. After everything the fmc puts up with, the worst of the worst happens, and to make matters even worse than her mom cuts out her mate mark before she walks down the aisle. I wanted to scream at her to let everyone know what a C*nt her mother really is. That her powers are bound because of her, and gosh it was just an awful ending. I feel completely unbalanced after finishing the book. My anxiety is at an all time high and I wish I would have waited to read this one before the next one came out. I couldn’t even nap, my mind just kept going back to all the horrible things that happened to the fmc at the hands of her Mother, the Councilman. Ugh. I hope the next one comes out soon.

Book 2 kept us on the edge of our seats the entire ride. Greer and her guys go through so much, and I love the growth that they go through in this book. Also, I love the focus on the ‘found family’ and that sometimes parents don’t always know best. I think this is the part of the book that got to me the most, especially about trying to please her parents, seeking approval, etc. And that resonates with me and what I’ve gone through so deeply.

There’s a great mix of 🥵, emotional moments, funny moments, and so much more. I also liked seeing how the guys all are with Greer, they’re different but they all complement each other. Rory & Harper did such an amazing job with this story and I honestly can’t wait for the next book to come out. That cliffhanger really did me in, it put my heart through the wringer.

Put terror into my heart about Greer’s chance of a happy ending with her guys

Greer, a demon slayer, along with Dane, a bear shifter, and Valen, another demon slayer from a prominent English family, are navigating their relationship as well as the betrayal they faced at the end of Shadow Slayer. As the story progresses the small battle they win, evil pushes them back again, and, to move forward they may have to take a few blows to the chin. Twilight Terrors put terror into my heart about Greer’s chance of a happy ending with her guys. Greer seems to be getting the hang of personal relationships, but still has a few hurdles to overcome in the future. Reader discretion advised due to dark subject matter and/or possible triggers.

I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Twilight Terrors is the second book in Rory Miles and Harper Frey’s To Kill A Nightmare series and was just as fabulous as the first.

Greer is back in this second installment and she’s just as fierce and feisty and kick butt as ever! And of course Bastian, Valen and the rest of her crew are just equally as badass and ready to go—which is a good thing as once again things lurk on the horizon and Greer is once again needing to go all out to protect herself and those she loves. So the question is can Greer find a way to do all that (save the world, claim her mate, seal the deal with her fiancé, and deal with the fae) before everything comes to an end? Dive in now to see for yourself—especially if you love spicy, why choose paranormal romances that that suck you right in and takes you along on the journey.

Bianca is a bitch. A grade "A", unrivaled bitch who deserves to rot in hell. I read some early chatter that I'd hate Greer's mother by the end of this book. And I doubted that assessment. How bad could it be? Greer is a bad ass. She has another Slayer, a Shifter, and a Fae on her side, that sounds like good odds. Forget that. Nightmares featured her mother for a reason, and it was all brought to a soul shattering peak in Twilight Terrors. Through the first part of this book, I actually loved the development of characters. Some prophesies made sense finally, Bastian was redeemed, and I panted my way through a mating chapter with Dane. I even loved the direction of Crash and Rippley. Only for it all to go so horribly off the rails. My throat was aching with unshed tears, and I wish a thousand painful deaths to Bianca. Strap yourself in, this one is rough, but worth it.
