I read all the chapters available... :)
Quite nostalgic and cute thought I'm not really impressed by the weird choice of names.
Still... once a Shaman King fan, always a Shaman King fan, I guess.

Shaman King was one of the very first manga series I ever picked up back in the day, and I have fond memories of it from my childhood. I always thought the premise was interesting, and wished it had garnered the same affection in the west that many of its contemporaries (like Dragon Ball, Naruto, & One Piece) had. Unfortunately, it never panned out, and it was sad to think of this special little series fading away into obscurity.

Fast forward many years & I was elated to discover that Kodansha comics had picked up the rights to Shaman King, and had not only reprinted the manga series but also recreated the anime for Netflix. Better yet, both included (finally) the complete ending (as the original Viz printing left out several of the final chapters due to the series cancellation & skipped straight to the epilogue).

I was even more surprised to learn that they would also be printing (perhaps for the first time in English) the sequel series, Shaman King Flowers, as well.

I was excited to pick this up and read what I'd only ever experienced through Wiki pages prior, and it was about what I expected. A good start that easily captures the feelings of & pays homage to the original but still feels fresh. I recommend it to anyone else who grew up with or loves Shaman King.

If you’re a fan of the original “Shaman King” series, this is definitely a fun, action-packed sequel.

This first volume introduces readers to Hana Asakura—son of Yoh Asakura. He has inherited his father’s powers—as well as their burden. When distant relatives begin to crawl out of the woodwork to challenge Hana for his place in the family line, Hana must harness his strength in a way that will not tarnish this next generation of shamans.

Is it disappointing that we don’t see really any of the central cast in this first volume? A little. If you’re hoping for any cameos, you’ll be disappointed.

But, otherwise, I think this is a propulsive start to the next phase of this story~

Finished this in about 30 minutes lol. Just as good as the main series, and I like that even though this is in the future, it still relies on the main series for background, and the plot actually makes sense.

Pretty decent continuation from the original series. It's good to see some of the old cast. I am curious at how it will move along from here.
