As a hair stylist, Ansley has seen and cut a lot of people's hair, but when Roxie shows up for her appointment with a very large, gorgeous man, Ansley can't take her eyes off him. Nor can she stop her body's reaction to Roan when Roxie asks her to cut his hair as well. But things seem to go steadily downhill when Ansley's curse, her ability to say the first thing that comes to mind when around a man she is attracted to, rears its ugly head. When Roan growls at her to hurry up, Ansley knows her mouth has done it to her again. Even through the harsh chemical smells in the hair salon, Ansley's scent is like a punch in the gut to Roan. Knowing she is his mate, and a mortal, has him fighting the urge to claim her as his own. Hoping to ease into telling her he is a werewolf, Roan prays he has the control to take things slow. But when it comes to Ansley, he must fight the wolf inside him or risk scaring away the one woman that was meant for him.

I previously reviewed an older title from this author, Icy Temptations, and it was a delight to discover Roan’s Fall far surpassed her older work. Though part of a series, this story ties in to another series and is best read in order, this helps clear up some of the confusion that took place while reading Roan’s Fall. There are quite a handful of characters that I found myself struggling to keep up with.

But other than that, this title made me laugh, gasp, and giggle like the erotic fan girl that I am. It made me cry from all the angst and struggles both characters fought in themselves and against each other. It kept me reading with anticipation to find out how it ended.

Though it did slow down a bit towards the end, Roan’s Fall is packed with numerous erotic scenes, characters out of this world, and a taste of action to top it all off. It contained a new twist to the werewolf genre that was both surprising and unique. Roan’s Fall is a must read.

For a 84 page novella or Novelette this sure was pretty complete. Sometimes these types of stories are a bit "undercooked" because they are so short. They may have fallen for each other a bit quick but all-in-all, a satisfying read.

With any werewolf book the wolf spots his mate, they can't keep their hands off each other and they end up making some crazy love and finding they are bound to one another....Love and security that your man will not cheat on you....the best of both worlds.

This is the first of a series...Roxie is a special Were who needs to be protected and these 1k+ aged werewolves all live in a mansion together with one purpose...to protect Roxie. There is a enemy pack (Miles Pack) who are out for Roxie and it adds enough interest and friction so to make the whole story work.

I would have loved this as a full length novel and found the H/h fall very quickly for one another (I suppose that happens in real life sometime and seems to happen alot in Were life.)....but otherwise, it is well written, fun to read and great characters.

This is a quick little read. Roan is a very sexy six-foot-nine wall of werewolf. When he encounters his mortal mate, he is completely engulfed in the mating thrall and has to have her, NOW! Since Ansley is not a werewolf, he is unsure how to proceed in wooing his tiny mate. After a failed attempt at dating, and complete brush off by Ansley, he shows up at Ansley’s work, throws her over his shoulder and all but beats his chest on the way out as the mating dance begins.

I enjoyed this book, but I felt left out of some of the things that were happening because I didn’t read the Wulf’s Den series first. The sexy time scenes were steamy and the bickering between brothers and sisters-in-arms was pretty funny. I really like the premise of the book but I think I could’ve been more invested in the story if these smaller books were interwoven into a full length novel making the read richer and more substantial. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a short, paranormal read.

Roan's Fall is a very light, very short novella that you may enjoy if you like steamy wolf-shifter romance. Personally, I am getting a little tired of the check-your-brains-at-the-door, not-so-well-written stories like this that are quickly cranked out to turn a buck.

If you are looking for better wolf-shifter lit, I recommend Teri Spear's Heart of the Wolf series, beginning with book 1, Heart of the Wolf.

Another good wolf-shifter series is Law of the Lycans by Nicky Charles. Books in this series can be downloaded for free from http://tuebl.ca and from Barnes and Nobel.

This is a spicy quick read thrill ride. Ever met someone that immediately gave you the "I'd smash" thought? Thats this book in a nutshell. They meet, they like, they smash, we like! The fated mates can't help but bust it all over the place! Its quick, its sweet, and its for the dirty birdies that like it like that. This is a series and I do feel like this had a bit of set up, so I’m looking forward to get into the rest of the series to see how it builds!

Is that a bad book or what! It had so much potential but it was all so rushed and things came out of nowhere. Especially the last part right at the end. It doesn't flow or mesh with the rest of the book at all. Like the author even forgot some parts of characteristics of her characters.

What Is It About:
While it isn't completely necessary to read the Wulf's Den series, it is helpful to know who people are and know the stories of the couples shown in this book.

Roan is a werewolf. He is the protector/bodyguard of the foretold one Roxie. Roxie is a werewolf who has special powers and is in danger from a man who wants to use her to control all of the packs. When Roxie goes to get her hair cut, the hairdresser Ansley is Roan's mate and there is instant attraction. But will Ansley stay with Roan after discovering that he's a werewolf?

What I Liked and Didn't:
I read this as a carry on from the Wulf's Den series, I am not nor will I ever be a massive fan of short stories. I don't see the point of them because as soon as you get into a character the book is over but also certain plot sections are shortened down to fit into it. That is exactly my issue with this book. There is no build up to their relationship, which I'm normally find with in a shifter romance because of the whole mate thing but Ansley was not cautious and quit her job just because he said so. I didn't get into the characters at all, Roan is a possessive caveman but not in a good way and Ansley seems like a pathetic kind of woman. In this series and the Wulf's Den, I've always had an issue with two things: the selfishness of not telling everyone that Roxie can turn mortals so werewolves are holding the dying mortal mates because they're scared, and that whole withdrawl thing as a couple, it'd take your individuality away because they can't handle being away from each other and it results in every girl quitting their job which is quite pathetic.

Final Thoughts:
God, after that rant I can't rememeber why I'm even giving it a two star rating. I guess it's because it was meh and I didn't exactly struggle to finish it. To be completely honest, I don't know if it being a full novel would have made it worse or better because the plot was basically none existent.
Would I recommend it? I'm going to go with no, I was on the fence about recommending the Wulf's Den series so I know for a fact that I wouldn't recommend this one.
Will I be carrying on the series? I'd read this about four years ago and gave them a decent score so I'm going to keep reading just so that they don't say at a ridiculous star rating.

Roxie(Roan's....friend of some sort, were) took Roan out to a hair salon, and when Roan first came closer to Ashley(the mortal hairdresser), he sniffed was a surprise to him, as she was his mate!
Beowulfn is Roxie's mate and Roan's brothers are Skylar and Jager and Leif.

Saskia is roan's sister and Eli is her mate,

Bad things about this story and book:
This book the relationship between the main characters went too fast, like on page 16 or so they're already making out and thinking about doing each other, and page 18 they do each other.
its like wtf they dont even know each other. everything in the book just moved by so fast that its like a 5minute relationship before they fall in love right then and there and get married.

Your panties won't stay dry! This book has a guarantee of this. It can contains spoilers!

But let's start at the beginning. Roan is a werewolf, one of Roxie's, the foretold one's protectors. He goes to a hair salon during his duty to protect Roxie, where he finds his mate the instant he smells Roxie,s hairdresser's scent. The problem is, she's human.

Ansley work as a haridresser in a little salon when Roxie, her old client comes with a gorgeous man following her. The man is tall, and extremely hot, and her panties starts soaking the instant she lays an eye on him. But because her lack of self-confidence, she can't believe a man like Roan wants her.

The mating urge that rode Roan was so extremely hot, I could feel the instensity of it. Absolute warning: don't read the book alone, because you will get so frustrated that you want to throw yourself over the first man who comes towards you. No kidding.

After the (almost) first sex scene I wanted to punch Roan in the face. I understand his reasons for what he did, and that he considered Roxie's advice, but he caused so much pain to Ansley I wanted to scream at him for this. But the surprise kiss after that day was so aaaabsolutely cuute. I want a boyfriend who comes to me like this. Aww~

What I absolutely love in shifter books is the growling thing. It's just so S-E-X-Y. I want the ability to growl. It can be such a turn on during sex.

I felt sorry for Leif when Roan thrown him out. Poor thing, he wanted to help. I'm planning to read his book next, because I just love when a playboy like him finds his mate for life. I look forward to it!

I give 4,5/5 stars for the book, because I wanted to read more of it, including Ansley's turning into a werewolf and their life after that.

This book was recommended to me because I was participating in a name challenge and I couldn't find any books that I wanted to read that started with the letter R. Long story short, I read it but was a little embarrassed having to admit I read it not to mention I didn't really care for the book too much. It was a fast read with a lot of sex in it, it reminded me very much of a diluted Black Dagger Brotherhood book only with werewolves and without a whole lot of explanation about the pack. I understand that this series is a "spin off" from other books the author has written but quite frankly I am really not all that interested in reading her other books especially when I am told that the other books are completely the same and revolve around how all the other members of the pack get "mated".

It started out okay. It's a very standard plotline, but I was still into it. Roan, a gorgeous werewolf who serves as a bodyguard for Roxie (some prophecied person), meets his intended mate when he accompanies Roxie to the hair salon. Ansley is a hairdresser and is immediately attracted to Roan. From there, it's the usual--lots of over-the-top sexual attraction and graphic sex scenes that lack dialogue. I was disappointed. I've read way worse, but it wasn't very interesting and neither Roan nor Ansley was developed enough for me to care whether or not they ended up together. The summary was misleading. If I'd known it would be this tepid (and I'm talking about decent conflict, not lots of steamy scenes) I wouldn't have bothered.

Roxie wants to get her hair styled, but needing to take one of her protectors with her, she has Roan accompany her. Werewolf and Roan can't stand the smell that surrounds the place. When Roan finds himself in the chair awaiting a trim, he knows the minute he gets close to Ansley that she is his mate.

Despite his gruff and growling behavior, Ansley can't stop staring at Roan, nor put her foot in her mouth when it comes to talking to him. Ansley is confused by her reaction, but even more confused with Roan and his feelings for her and what it means where she is concerned.

Fun read, Roan is all male and his trying to protect Ansley from what he is has a backwards effect on their relationship.

H....O....T... HOT!!!!!!! sexy and short this set of words was all about the fun semigly carefree but forever lasting sexyness... lolzies...

kay... their are a bunch of male brothers carying swords but you only get to really meet two of them, one that is a pain in the tush and the other that is the male lead.

This is a sweet forever story about a werewolf that finds his mate after walking into a common hair salon and then proceeds to claim her forever (without her permission of course)

the male lead is a sexy-passionate-controling-good guy who tries his best to please his newfound mate and convince her that they are actually forever.

Honestly, I'm kinda iffy on these books. Of the two I've read, I haven't been able to get behind how quickly things happen and how accommodating the humans are at suddenly being tied to a supernatural. Generally speaking, I dig love at first sight/fated mates type books but... I'm just not feeling this one. Roan's brothers/brothers in arms were the most entertaining part of this book, in my opinion, and they weren't quite enough to carry it for me.

This series is just light fluffy stories without much real danger or even plot. Werewolf finds mate, mates with her before telling her he’s a werewolf. Girl acts surprised until they have sex, then she calmly accepts. There’s a brief moment of danger and she decides right away to become a wolf. The end.

I did feel a connection between these two, though they both were nitwits.

Roxy has the best part of all. And the other ‘brothers are idiots. How then can be ‘trained protector’s’ and have the social skills of a 5 year old I don’t understand.

Fave Scenes: Roxie’s talk with Ansel; Jager, Roxie & the sword.

I read all of the Wulf Den books and decided to try the Roxie's Protectors series and I have to say that I love them.

Roan didn't want to go to the beauty salon with Roxie but he went for her protection. Having to be around all the girly stuff and the strong smells was going to make him sick. That is until he gets a smell of Ansley's scent. She is his mate and he has to find a way to tell her.

As we all know it seems that all the males can't wait to tell their women before they mate them. Makes for a pretty interesting read. I can't wait to read the rest in this series.

It was ok. It started off pretty good then it went down from there. I would say 3/4 of the book was nothing but sex(I skipped through most of it) it would of been nice if it had more of Roan and Ansley developing a relationship.
It seem like Ansley excepted Roan being a werewolf way to fast. Also it kinda ended abruptly, I was reading then it was the the end. I will try the next one and hope it's better.

This is about Roan and Ansley. He is a werewolf and she is a human or immortal as humans are called. It is about how they meet and how Roan has a hard time telling Ansley that he is "different".

This story consists plenty of sex scenes, poor world building, uninteresting characters and unsophisticating writing.

Thank God this is a short story.

The story is not bad but... the female character's lack of confidence is annoying. She keeps thinking she is not beautiful enough for the guy which is irritating. I like the female characters to be strong. They don't have to be super confident or outgoing but at least not so concerned about how the guy deserves a better looking girl.

As a PWP it might work, but it has ambitions to be more. And in that it fails for me, since the characters did nothing for me - and there were way too many side characters (apparently from another series) for such a short story. The worldbuilding, the characterization, the almost plot - all meh.

Just gonna do a quick review as it's late and I'm dead tired...

This was an alright book for an intro to the series... It's an extension of the Wulf's Den series with the same characters... Pretty quick read... Read it in about an hour uninterrupted... Probably will read the rest of them...

This one is about Ansley & Roan. This is the first in this series but basically is just a continuation from the Wulf Den books, just with the focus being on Roxie's protector's. Not much action, and barely an issue with Miles.
