Rate this book
Stefan Archer may be seriously sexy, but he's also very drunk when he and his sister are taken prisoner. Captain Claude wants both of them in his bed, but Stefan isn't co-operating. Instead, the Archer siblings slide from one chaotic adventure to another, as they begin a life of piracy and sexual escapade on The Devil's Rose.

Curiously, this profile page allows me to add my date of death although so far as I can tell, to input info on such a page, you need to have identified yourself as being the relevant author. I can't help but wondering how many undead authors goodreads expects to sign up!

About 18 months ago I spent a lot of time researching the golden age of piracy and the history of Mary Read - was going to try my hand at a full on historical novel, but was unable to work with the co-writer I wanted, and gave it up. But, having done so much research, was tempted to turn it into pure fiction.

The seed idea that got this going was discovering a photo of a friend of mine, in which he bears an uncanny resemblance to another friend of mine (female). It all went from there. I had planned to write a series - there is a second installment languishing somewhere and I will hopefully get that sorted and out, and perhaps inspiraiton will come along for a third.

It owes a lot to a childhood fondness for swashbuckling films, - is more historical fantasy than gritty realism, and there are dashes of humour as well as being erotic elements.
