As she rode among the emerald hills of the Irish countryside, Teresa MacEgan was swept into a magical Midsummer's Eve that landed her in ancient Eire. By the light of the silver moon, the dark-haired beauty encountered a quietly seductive traveler who welcomed her to his home, Dun Cath. Tall and regal, the rugged warrior kindled a fiery need within her, and she longed to yield to King Conaire's request to become his queen.
Yet despite the uncontrollable passion they shared, Terri could relinquish her independence to no one. But when an enemy endangered Dun Cath's survival, the royal wedding became a necessity. Terri found herself facing a fearsome choice: desert the only man she'd ever loved, or join her king of the moon and become the Queen Of The Sun.
My writing career began in 1984 when I sold the first of over 100 non-fiction articles written for the national and regional horse magazines. A few years later, a friend and I decided to try our hand at novels. We wrote three and sold the third one, APRIL'S CHRISTMAS, to Avalon Books in 1994. My own first novel was LADY OF FIRE, a time-travel romance published by Leisure Books in 1996. I've always had a great interest in Ireland, history, horses and fantasy, and truly enjoy combining all these things in my novels. I am now working on SEVEN CASTLES IN IRELAND. "
So let me get this straight - Princess Vespa is a career woman with a condo and it ain't enough so she's vacationing in Ireland and... (how dare this peasant tell me not to ride! *I* am Princess Vespa, Daughter of King Roland of Druidia!). He lets her ride anyway, giving her this extra speshul Irish Hunter rather than a pony. She goes to the one place he told her not to and :poof: She's now in God only knows what millennia BC Ireland. Oh, but this is great! Fabulous! She no longer has to deal with the rat race; just the lack of so much as a privy. In the meantime...
Marvel's Loki is resentful because Thor is king and is channeling Wormtongue. Thor of course is out searching for the perfect queen when... he stumbles across Vespa. Uh oh...
So the next 250 pages, we're treated to her resolutely saying she does not want to be queen (channeling Aragorn now apparently), thus she won't marry him, but she's perfectly content to have that daily tryst. Oh, but if he dares go hunt someone ELSE to marry, she'll just leave. Uh... Right. You know, 20th century men may be perfectly content to be reduced to a live-action BOB sans batteries (and really, I can see the point buuuut), this ain't Kansas anymore, Dorothy. You want to play the ho, don't be surprised when a) his majesty goes and finds a wife to reproduce with and b) every other man in the kingdom expects the same favors. D'oh. All this with the Loki clone stirring up trouble.
It all comes to a head when the wannabe king forces a couple of men to kidnap her. He goes after her, and when they get back, decides to let "prince john" have it - for now.
Several weeks pass while the snot threatens all the loyal men's families to keep them under his thumb, while running the place into the ground (because he's a piss-poor manager - that's why he wasn't chosen to be king... well that and he's a cowardly little snot).
Oh, and our H insists on testing the h. Yeah; testing her. First, she has to prove her humility (by working as a servant for 3 days), looks apparently are without question, and the third? Courage. Uh... Yeah. You know what, no magic pen is worth this. BuhBye.
With a new beginning Connery and Theresa make a new home due to Lonans treachery. King Connery must rescue his people loyal to him and exile Lohan and his thugs.
Terresa is on a vacation to Ireland when she incounters the magic on a midsummer's eve and sweep back to an earlier time. Where she meets the man in the place of her dreams.
