If there was one thing Kayla Williams had learned – life wasn’t easy. She’d had to struggle for every single thing she had and, if she were honest, she preferred it that way. It gave her a feeling of accomplishment to know if she wanted to succeed, she would need to put in the hard work. She just hadn’t thought that would include risking her life to do it.
After years in the foster care system, Kayla had one goal, to go to college. So when she’d received a full scholarship from the University of Tennessee, Kayla had believed all her dreams were about to come true. Little did she know those it would take no more than an accidental meeting to alter her ambitions. Nor had she ever imagined that that chance encounter would turn her dreams into a nightmare.
From the moment Alec bumped into Kayla, he’d been entranced. That should have been his first clue to run, but instead he’d found himself searching her out every chance he had. By the time he’d realized he was in too deep, it was too late. Then again, the more he learned about his kind, the more he was beginning to understand they’d been destined for each other. He just wished it hadn’t meant forcing Kayla into his way of life, for there was little chance any human would survive living with his kind – Demons.
Never, in a million years, had Kayla ever imagined there were other beings out there than humans. Then again, she wasn’t so sure it mattered when it came to Alec. He was everything she’d hadn’t believed existed. His charm, good looks and incredible emerald eyes were what fairytales were made of, if she’d believed in that sort of thing, which she most certainly didn’t.
So why was she unable to stay away from him? Kayla had begun college with the intent of changing her life. She’d just been unprepared for the direction it would take her. Nor had she understood the ramifications of choosing to love a demon.

CAPTIVATING!I
I knew after I read the first paragraph, that I was hooked. The author has written the story line that keeps you wanting to not want to put the book down. I was told that this book is intended for young adult readers. But, I disagree. Truth be told, I am a senior citizen. I enjoy reading a good fantasy book now and then. Looking forward to the next book that continues the characters storylines. Great Job SUSAN BANIK! 👍
