This introductory work on the discipline of Cultural Studies is extremely reader-friendly. With efficient pedagogical tools such as recaps of what the previous sections had discussed and suggestions for activities in relation to the various topics, the volume is structured and almost reads like a school textbook.
The structuring aside, it does provide a basic introduction about the discipline as it claims; gives a basic outline about the broader themes, problems, and theories that generally fall under Cultural Studies. However, the latter sections which deal with the 'Sites of Culture' seem to be excerpts from completely different books which the author seemed to have attempted to sew in with a decent existing manuscript, but to no avail. I felt that those sections, though extensive and relevant in their own right, were too jarring and distant in relation to how the book started off.
