It’s time for the hunted to become the hunter…

With Hellfire Academy being rebuilt, Kennedy and Gabriel are trying to find Kennedy’s missing mother. Gone since she started at Hellfire Academy, Kennedy’s convinced her mom’s disappearance isn’t a coincidence. The evidence is slowly starting to point at a fallen angel that even Heaven fears.

Spending all this time alone with a gorgeous archangel isn’t completely without its benefits and there is no denying there is an attraction between the two. But with the trail growing colder by the day, classes becoming more focused on swords than books, and twins who need a guardian angel, now isn’t the time for romance.

When Kennedy discovers her prophetess best friend is still having visions of the college being destroyed, it's up to Kennedy and Gabriel to find out who and what the Watchers are, before they succeed where the Fallen failed.

Cheryl works in an office by day. By night she leads a (not-so) secret life DJing, and throughout it all, is constantly scribbling away as the plot bunnies demand constant attention.

Her first novel was written when she should have been revising for her exams. While it is unlikely to ever see the light of day, it was the start of long relationship with the evil plot bunnies of doom.

A need to do more than just one subject led her to the University of Hull, where she graduated with an honours degree in American Studies. For the third year of the four year degree, she was able to call Baton Rouge home. Since then, Louisiana has claimed a large chunk of her heart, and remains a place she will always consider home.

LSU was where she discovered FanFiction and currently writes (mainly) CSI:NY stories and a Rescue: Special Ops story.

When not transcribing the stories of the angels and archangels, working, or DJing, she is at the beck and call of three cats – all of whom rank higher in the household than she does.

“Demon Hunter” is the second installment in the new UF “Hellfire Academy” Series by C.L. Coffey, set in a whole new world populated by Angels, Demons and Nephilim, and whose MC (Dora Kennedy) is a relatable, interesting and funny young girl, the offspring of a human and an angel, a fact her mother actively hid from her, but nevertheless keep on addressing in which Dora herself, thought to be visions or some paranoia illness, that forced them to constantly move across the country, until the hit Las Vegas, and reality came crushing on Kennedy’s life. She is in fact a Nephilim, and gets a place at to Greenwood Preparatory University (Hellfire Academy for insiders 😊).

Kennedy’s one and unbroken condition to attend the University is to have her own mother taken care of. Now Kennedy’s mother is missing, and she accompanied by Gabriel, is on the quest to find her whereabouts. At least while the Hellfire Academy is actually being rebuilt, they can concentrate in the search for both her mother and the one responsible for destroying the Academy without further distractions… wrong because being along with the Archangel is distraction enough and even if not new clues about the Fallen responsible and his agenda, put them in the trail of the Watchers, whose unknown role in the events must be assessed.

C.L. Coffey vision of Nephilim as demon/human hybrids who are the “bad guys” in the eyes of the Angels is refreshing and very original. Her Angels are as flawed as the humans, which makes for a very entertaining reading. With a fast-paced plot full of twists and turns and a veritable strong female MC capable to make the best of any situation, this is a fabulous addiction to the paranormal urban fantasy genre.

👣👣ONE THRILLING ADVENTURE👣👣
Holy hotness homer! Coffey brought out the big guns, heavy artillery and ammo aplenty, bringing the heat and bashing walls with this tumultuous tilt-her-world, delivering some harsh facts, gut-clenching choices and brutal lessons, launching this baby to new heights. Attributes and ingenuity in each thread you unravel with every page, your lured into this wicked web so intricately and precise, obscuring the arduous struggles and formidable triumphs while attentive to the deadly twists and shocking turns unfolding, wrapping this gem up sleek, shiny and tight. Stunning events and thrilling badassery descend in a tsunami of calculating maneuvers and cunning strategy, sketchy lines and blurred perimeters solidify as limitations are amplified and tested, reaching deep for every ounce of strength in a fierce surge of determination, propelling this bad boy to life brilliantly. The characters are complex, genuine and realistic with traits and qualities that balance and blend, with amazing depth and diversity and enough spice to add an extra kick to the mix. Throw in 100% on point realism, raising the stakes with such graphic scenarios that are so colorfully descriptive and vividly detailed its like you're living it with them instead of on the sidelines, feeling everything the characters feel. Remarkable job Coffey, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.

Huh. Well, then, that reveal was a kick in the pants. If nothing else, these cliffhangers are real nail-biters.

Demon Hunter, book two in the Hellfire Academy, was somewhat plodding to me. For the most part, it's a whole lot of Kennedy and Gabriel hanging on the edge of temptation, trying not to fall to sin. I'm not trying to be judgy, Gabe, but really, steamy forbidden relationships are the work of the devil. Just sayin'

But love affairs aside, the entire book was a quick and easy read, but there was very little tension for me. It felt as if I was waiting for the shoe to drop, and sadly when it did, it was the last page. I say sadly because that is a lot of time to woo me wasted. I like the goings-on, but I need more.

All-and-all, this was an okay book two. I would say it held information if not entertainment. I hope book three is both entertaining and informative, though!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.

Kennedy is back at the academy. Leigh-Ann and Ty have become really close and Kennedy is starting to accept him. At least there is someone who can keep Leigh-Ann safe when she has her visions. She is still working closely with Gabriel to find her mother and I mean really closely. I must say that the excitement and the constant fight for their lives is thrilling. I love everything about this series so far. The more you learn the more you realize you don't know. There is a lead on the mystery but you'll have to read it for yourself to see what is happening. If you like Academy books, angels, stubborn and powerful women always in trouble, this is something you should really enjoy. Our heroine is concerned about her mother who seems to have disappeared. And that might just be the start of her problems.

This is book two of the series. It works pretty well as a standalone, but you will be missing some of the backstory if you start here.

This is a paranormal romance, of sorts, with angels and demons as the main protagonists. The story is well written and easy to read, while building on the events of the first book. Both our setting and our characters get a bit more depth in this book, which is always a good thing. The plot is also getting more convoluted, with several twists and turns which definitely keep things interesting. Overall, I enjoyed this installment and look forward to seeing where it goes next.

Highly recommended.

Rcvd an advanced reader copy from Booksprout for giving my two cents. I enjoyed this book more than the first. We start with Kennedy and Gabriel out searching for her mother. Following a lead, they find an apt and while she awaits her mom's return, a couple of Fallen have come to collect her mom and that's when trouble ensues. On top of that, her bff is having visions while trying to attack her. This leads to more questions and Gabriel seeks answers at the Vatican. That info sends Kennedy and Gabriel to London but what they didn't expect to find was more Fallen and an old breed that was thought to be a myth. Hellfire Academy is supposed to be a safe place for people like Kennedy but whom can she trust. Drama, OMG moments and suspicions make this a good read.

Archangel Gabriel set out on a mission. That mission got turned around when he sees Kennedy. As she and Gabriel get closer and learn the secrets that have been hidden, new things will be discovered. Kennedy and Gabriel are trying to find Kennedy’s missing mother who has been gone since she started at Hellfire Academy. Kennedy is convinced her mom’s disappearance isn’t a coincidence. Now it's up to Kennedy and Gabriel to find out who and what the Watchers are as her prophetess best friend is still having visions of the college being destroyed.

There is so much going on here as the story continues to move ahead. Grab your copy and see if anything gets resolved as they find out more information.

Demon Hunter Hellfire Academy Book 2 by C.L. Coffey once again kept me extremely engaged. I could barely put the book down. The more I get to know Gabriel and Kennedy the more I can't wait to see where this is going. It has just the right amount of mystery, action, and romance to keep me wanting more. I also love the budding friendship between Kennedy and Ty. It's great that they have Leigh-Ann in common and they can use her to bring them together, and she can help them see how they can be allies for each other. I can't say enough how much I am enjoying this series. If you like a good story with mystery and romance this is definitely worth reading.

Kennedy and Gabriel spend a lot of book 2 looking for answers. About where her mother is, the meaning of her friend Leigh Ann's Prophetic dreams and who the watchers are as well as if they exist or not. All of which lead Kennedy and Gabriel across continents to find that out. Mix into that having to contend with Fallen Angels, Nephilim and a cherub - Siobhan. Which in turn makes them both get a lot closer to each other. That in itself made my smile. Blimey though that ending floored me. I completely didnt see that coming at all. It was a knockout ending that and a cracking read. I cant wait for the next book now

This is my first novel by Author Coffey, within a few pages I could see why the author has a following. I was knocked off my socks! Just layers and layers of storylines are revealed for ALL the characters ...not just our MCs, Archangel Gabriel and Kennedy. Friendships, prophecies, enlightenment, fear, resilience...the list goes on and on of everything the characters are, need to be, will be. I can see why this is a series, way too much for one novel. AND since I didn't know it was a series I will go back and reread this when I officially reach it as book two. Even out of order it was a stellar read for me.

A fantastic paranormal story filled with mystery, intrigue, suspense, friendship, love interests, action, a fiery feisty female lead character and plenty of interesting supporting characters with different individual personalities and quirks.

The plot thickens in book two as more mysteries are uncovered, we learn more about the characters who encounter plenty of twists and turns as the story develops.

Well written, brilliantly developed diverse characters with great chemistry and a gripping storyline.

Looking forward to finding out what happens next in this series by C. L. Coffey.

This is book 2 in the Hellfire Academy series and I can’t wait to read book 3. Kennedy’s mother has gone missing and Gabriel is helping her but there is so much going on now that Kennedy is back at the academy and she believes that there’s something more going on with her mother’s disappearance. Sorry guys I’m not going to get too much into this story but it’s go go go right from the beginning and I’m totally hooked on this series, fantastic story I enjoyed it immensely and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Kennedy is still learning about herself and now her friend having more prophecies and things aren't what they seem. As she and Gabriel become closer and try to learn the secrets that have long been hidden new things will come to light and as do emotions. It's hard to put this book down once you start and there are so many intricate twists and turns. It's a fantastic read. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.

It took me 1 day to read this book because I refused to put it down.

Kennedy has finally got some answers but with these answers, come more questions. There’s something brewing in the wind, something that has everyone sitting at the edge of their sits. And with the building tension between Kennedy and Gabriel, I don’t think anyone is ready for what happens next.

In the second book we have a new player. Watchers are the descendants of an angel and a saint. They do not want anyone to know about them. Dora and Gabriel are trying to locate a cherub named Siobhan to get some answers about the watchers instead they find out more then they expect too. Lots of mystery and suspense in this story. So many secrets. I would recommend this book and series to all.

The story is bringing on the drama and action. While Kennedy is searching for her mom and more information, it's leading to more questions than answers. The spark between Kennedy and Gabriel slowly turning into an inferno and Leigh-Ann is getting more visions....absolutely thrilling storyline and plot

The story of Kennedy continues with so much action and mystery that I kept reading to try and find out what the hell was actually happening or going to happen. I still have so many questions, especially regarding the Watchers.
The twist at the end I did not expect. What the hell was that?
