In addition to his work as a professional editor, James Buckley, Jr., is also the author of many books on American sports that are geared toward young fans and budding athletes.
Buckley, who has founded a company called Shoreline Publishing Group to produce books for reluctant readers, maintains that sports are far more than simple hobbies or ways to burn off excess energy.
Since this book is tailored for a younger audience it didn’t have as much depth as I wanted, but it still contained some interesting info about my favorite sport. I liked how the author included a two-page blurb on each team, however some of the “Funky Facts” were bland and largely irrelevant.
What I learned from this book is this book is awesome it told me what i was going to for camp cause its on april 15 2010 but on the first day the coach will say "what do you know about football" so far so i guess no practice session on the first day. But i can't wait to meet new friends who also love or like football i hope you can all come so did you there are missing teams out there still here like the:Kansas City Cowboys,Orang Indians,Evansville crimson giants, dayton triangles, duluth Kelly's,racing tornadoes, staten island staple tons, providence steam roller, orange tornadoes and columbus panhandles. The weird part is they had hard leather helmets, heavy wool jerseys, heavy canvas pants, cleats, no pads (poor them i hope they did not get hurt) and a nose guard.and there is two famous quarter backs #1 Peyton manning home team: The colts. Siblings: yes. mom's name: olivia manning. dad's name: archie manning. #2 Eli manning home team: the new york giants. siblings: yes mom's name: olivia manning. dad's name: archie manning there are mostly brothers. made by Dangelo p.s thank you for reading interviews at classroom please and ms greenhouse 9th reminder don't for get the boys book have a good Christmas and new year and a good weekend see you at school i can,t wait to be star of the week byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyye
Adult Reader Reaction: There is plenty of history, but also lots of current facts, too. Even as an avid football fan, I learned a lot. Because of the book's layout, you can jump from section to section and pick what you want to read. That said, the pages are pretty cramped and may get visually overwhelming for some readers.
Pros: Football fans and sports trivia buffs will have a field day with the Ultimate Guide to Football. It is illustrated nonfiction, perfectly built for readers who don't always like having to read from page 1 to page 100.
Cons: There is a ton of information crammed onto every page, with different colors and font sizes. This may be distracting or make for difficult reading for some kids.
This Book tells about the history of the early days about the Nfl. Furthermore, it also tells about the Afl and Nfl Merger. The Next thing is that, it also tells about the pioneers in the sport. The next thing is that they tell about the best player's in their franchise's history. Another thing is that they also tell about all-time leader's in franchise history.
