Pandas are shy, which makes them hard to find in the wild. They can live to be 2 years old. But pandas are in danger. If we don’t do more to help them, fewer and fewer pandas will live in the wild. This book tells students what can be done to help this endangered animal.

The informational picture book, Save The Panda, by Sarah Eason pertains to the animal species, pandas. The author describes pandas habitat and behavior throughout the book. The author informs students with the endangered status of pandas and ways or suggestions that can help save them from extinction. From reading this book, I learned many facts that I hadn't known before. Such as pandas can live until the age of twenty years old, and pandas are very shy animals, thus they are hard to find out in the wild. The illustrations located on each page really help explain the information that is being given to you. I feel this would be great for visual learners, so while they are reading the book they can also follow along by viewing the pictures. The informational book contains both a table of contents and index page. I like how the table of contents includes a series of questions, for an example, "Why are pandas so special?" There is also a glossary located in the back of the book, which includes many vocabulary words. Some of these words include bamboo, refugee camp, and territory. I would highly recommend having this book in your library or classroom. It is an informational book, but also very engaging and fun for students to read!
