This was one of the best Forth books I've read so far. The book starts from the very beginning and teaches each Forth concept separately including a lot of exercises. I especially liked the exercises of this book as it encourages the reader and teaches him/her how to do top-down and bottom-up programming simultaneously as it is needed to be a good Forth programmer (especially bottom-up).

A chapter dedicated to the inner workings of a Forth system which I really appreciated.

There's also a complete Forth block editor and the authors take you through the complete source code and explain it in miniature detail to teach you how to design a fairly complex program.

The last chapter includes assembler routines(words) in both 8080 and Z80 assembly, and also teaches you how to create headerless words and how to compile individual opcodes in the PFA of a word using C,

What I enjoyed the most was how passionate the authors were in both writing and presentation of the Forth materials that makes this book a joy to read.
