A production crew invades Josie Pigeon's construction job site to shoot a PBS remodeling series, making Josie fume. So when a bludgeoned body appears on the premises, Josie is a top suspect. That's when she decides to make her own suspect list. But the more Josie hammers down the facts, the closer to home she hits.

Enjoyed the story except the part where the crew agreed it would be best to hide Courtney's body though they had nothing to do with killing her. Dottie was still on probation and that would get her straight back to prison. Fortunately the body disappeared before they could carry out their daft idea.
I enjoy this series, even if I have read it terribly out of order. I like Josie and Sam, they make a great team. I enjoyed the mystery and it kept me guessing. I did have to check the publication date because some of the things in the book are very dated (but of course current with when the book was written) and you just wonder why she is checking her answering machine. I have one more book in the series to read and am looking forward to it.
I read over half this book before slamming it shut and returning it to the library. Enjoyed the "self-made" heroine. The take off on This Old House was thin, but typical for this quality of book. When I got mad was when five characters in the book decided that they should hide the dead body they found, instead of calling the police. How can there be that many stupid people all in the same room?
I love this series. Not sure why in this particular book they have Josie look and sound like an idiot throughout the book, as normally, although she lacks self-esteem she makes good decisions. Still, this book had some crucial elements for those who have kept up with the series. Yet, this author has a wonderful style, and I enjoyed reading it to the end.
This is the 4th book in the Josie Pigeon series. Josie agrees to do a PBS remodeling series with the PBS start. Not until the star shows up, does Josie realize that this person is a much detested person from her childhood. Someone that her parents had constantly held up (like a sibling would be) to her to follow an example. When that person turns up murdered, Josie and her crew (who all have something to hide) decide to continue to hid e the body, while they try to discover who would have enough motive to murder Courtney. The answer is a bit unexpected.
This Josie Pigeon was the 4th in the series. The construction crew is asked to be on a home improvement reality show==and it of course led to a murder, and once again they hide the body and don't tell the police. Interesting sidenote--one of the minor characters is Chad Hensahw--son of Susan Henshaw in the other series by the author.
