The subject of Plane Geometry is here presented to the student arranged in six books, and each book is subdivided into propositions. To assist the student in following the steps of the reasoning, references are given to the results already obtained which are required in the demonstration.The books cover plane and solid Euclidean geometry, elementary number theory, and incommensurable lines. Elements is the oldest extant large-scale deductive treatment of mathematics.
