Cyclone Tracy: the diary of Ryan Turner, is a book about Cyclone Tracy, which devasted Darwin, Australia on Chritmas day. This is a diary about Ryan Turner how he and his family survived and prepared for this event. A great book for either a read from your local library or great for a school project.

I believe that The Cyclone Tracy : the diary of Ryan Turner Is a cool book about Romance with a Hippee and The clylone Part.. I believe that It could have been a Bit shorter Instead of all that stuff Happening BEFORE The Cyclone.. but this was helpful with my year 7 assigment to chose a Natrual diaster! :) Thanks

This entire series is a wonderful way to learn history or teach it to adolescents. I find today's generations seem to recall more when they learn through other people (pop songs, celebrity gossip, etc.), so what better way to teach history than through someone else's perspective? Yes, "authentic" diaries would be "better", but would the language really hold the modern student's attention? Did the diary writer know what WOULD be important in the context of history? Probably not.

This book was out standing it had comedy suspense romance and action it contained a true story about a cyclone in darwin and I loved it because the story builds up and I like that it was written in a diary entry, I did not like though, that it did not tell us much about what happened during the cyclone. altogether it was a great story and a interesting one too. I recommend this book to everyone.

I think this book was great! It has a great story line and I love the fact it was a diary entry. this book was funny intense and very sad, i think it is devastating how Cyclone Tracy destroyed every thing. But I found that the start was not really relevant though. All together I really liked it and rated it 4/5 stars.

Good educational book. The author didn't do a great job at setting the scene for 1978. It felt a lot newer. But I understand that he was trying to write to younger audience about something that was absolutely devastating to all the people of Darwin Australia. Just to young of an audience to me.

I did enjoy this book. I think it is more for older children to read though.
