The job offer? Spend this winter on the remote, private island of the mysterious Dr. Castor Pollux, as a companion to his surgically abused daughter, Gemini. Sounds like the start of some demented horror story? It is! Lured onto the operating table, and into madness, by the hypnotic silver eyes of a sadistically predatory nurse, you’ll donate every organ to terror as you follow young Danielle on a horrific journey into a medical nightmare where no one escapes unaltered.
This story has all elements of horror: a feeling of fear, uncertainty, and unpredicted. After Danielle lost her job and broke up with her boyfriend, she embraces a new opportunity. It looks ideal to earn a big amount of money by caring for a woman with special needs. Soon she will discover creepy people, a doctor, a servant, and a German nurse with unusual names, who are part of a wicked plan. Danielle has only one choice, to escape. But, will she manage it?
Conjoined is a uniquely different tale of doing research before accepting something. If it sounds too good to be true. It usually is. Listen to your red flags.
People who love a great H. P. Lovecraft story are in for a real treat.
J. D. Allen creative style of writing always keeps my interests.
Conjoined is the first story in Dark Tales, which is an omnibus of four different novellas.

I want to start this review off by saying, if you are a twin, please read this and let us know what you think!!!!
Danielle Duo is having a really bad day, so she takes a few days to chill and attempt to get over the heartache and setbacks. She goes to a job convention and meets an odd lady looking to hire a particular type of person. What has the potential to be an amazing experience, ends up life changing.
J. D. Allen put a neat little twist on a twins-type horror trope. A fun, fast, and very entertaining short story. I like Allen’s stories and his writing style. I am having fun going through his stories. You all need to give him a try, too. All of his stories are on Kindle Unlimited, or just a dollar.
Ah, I thought I knew how the story would progress, and I gleefully witnessed things going exactly as I imagined, at first. Then, a plot twist. I love how it turned out. The ending was delightful. That final page was a joy to read. Very good. Very good.
This story is perhaps not as gruesome or gory as one might expect, but is done very well. The creepy mood and the sense of impending catastrophe are highly enjoyable!
