there are seven stories in wait until dark. they are the jigsaw puzzle, mummies. the corpse revenge, phobia, graveyard dare, better late than never and the gecko. the jigsaw puzzle is about a girl who finds a puzzle on top of a shelf in a old shop. owner said he had never seen it before. she took it home, put it together it started to look like her room. when she was finished she found it was like her room and she was in it. there was a figure in the picture as well. she turned around to find someone staring in her window. the name of the puzzle was the strangest puzzle in the world. the next story is mummies. it is about a twelve year old boy who stays in a egyptian musuem with his whole class. the musuem curator tells him not to go into the room with the glass cases full of mummies. later he has to use the restroom and he does not know where it is so he looks for his teacher and he is not there. he thinks ok and maybe he will pass him in route to the bathroom. he goes down the hall and there is a fork he sees a red sign he thinks says exit. he goes toward the sign and takes a turn and find out it is not a exit sign and it is into the room with the mummies and he runs. he runs into the room with the cofens and mumies greet him. he gets cornered. that morning the teacher and the curator look for him. they did not know he turned into a mummy. the next stroy is corpse revenge. corpse revenge is about henry archer and he has been ill for weeks. his nephews wanted him to die to get his fortune. they think he died and they put him in his best suit and and a diamond stigman. so they dig him up and he is still alive and he drags them down and burys them alive. he brushes the dirt off and walks into town. the next story is phobia. phobia is about dave who has a phobia of rodents. he was walkign at twilight and walked through the park on his way home. he started to hear foot steps following behind him. so he picks up the pace of his walk. then slows down to not let them know he is scared. then he gets to the lake and there is a man siting down on a bench. then a bunch of rats swarm around him. he steps in a rat hole. the man stands up and it is him with a rat face. the next story is graveyard dare. it is about four boys and they are having a sleep over. they saw the grave yard from the top of the building. one of the boys says my dad told me not to go into the graveyard at night as the skeletons will rise. the other boy says you do not really belive that and all the boys stare at him. he says fine all go into the graveyard and prove that the skelotons do not rise. they say if he does that he has to go into the middle of the graveyard and grab a white birch branch, which only grows in the middle of the graveyard. he says ok and jumps over the fence and goes to the white birch tree in the middle of the graveyard or so he belives. he jumps up grabs what he thinks is a branch and breaks it. then he goes back to the house and there is skeleton fingers on his face. the next stroy is better late than never. this story is about john o'rourke and he is asking peole for a ride and what he is doing because he always is on time and everytime he askes someone they scream.he goes to the phone booth and finds a quarter and calls his wife. his maid picks up the phone and she says his wife is at his funeral and he says he had better get there before it is too late. the next stroy is the gecko. this story is about a man who has a corach infestation and he buys a gecko which is bigger than all the others. the gecko grows bigger every day and the man can not sleep once the infestation is gone. so he goes lookibg for the gecko where he thinks it is sleeping. the neighbor calls and the police go busting into his room and can not find but did not search under the bed. there laid the gecko finally full.

this book is about 7 tales of suspenses and my favrit one was the first one ¨The Jigsaw Puzzle¨ and the jigsaw puzzle is about a girl named lisa who buys a puzzle named ¨The strangest jigsaw puzzle in the world¨ and when she makes the puzzle she relized that the puzzle was of her. and a scary figer in the window

Short, mildly scary stories for ages 9-13. Strong readers will be bored with these stories after 5th grade, but they are excellent for struggling readers through 8th grade.

i think that some bullies were trying too force the boy too go in the graveyard so he did and he was saying that he wanted too get something from the graveyard too show that he was there.

Quite entertainng. I was surprised so many people died but that was pretty cool. I particularly enjoyed the jigsaw puzzle story.
