Welcome to Spellbound, where paranormal is the new normal. Big changes are on the horizon for Emma and she's doing her best to prepare. Unfortunately, this is Spellbound, where the best laid plans often fall victim to a curse or two. When Emma is tasked with defending a client accused of smuggling angel dust, she's determined to exonerate the accused faun, who seems to be a model resident and all-around Good Samaritan. Her attempts to gather evidence for the defense stall when she begins to suffer from a serious case of deja vu.
Can Emma figure out what's really happening before it's too late?
Wands Upon A Time is the third book in the Spellbound Ever After paranormal cozy mystery series.
Annabel Chase is the author of urban fantasy and cozy mystery novels. She would love to live in a magical town where she can shop at Ready-to-Were for the the perfect outfit, flirt with hot angels and vampires, and cook gourmet meals without exerting any effort. Visit her on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/Annabel-Chas... or on her website at www.annabelchase.com.
This was well done - better than I figured since I don't have the best track record with witchy kindle unlimited cozies. It would have been a four star (the writing style was well-done, the plot intriguing and I enjoyed the characters/town), but it's a pet peeve of mine to have a groundhog day scenario, so that lagged my interest a bit. And now I'm really curious on Darcy and Alex.
This was another quick read for me during a challenge break in Romance genre.
This world and series(s) is so easy to read I find myself finishing the books and wondering how I got to the end. It just takes you on the journey and the flow works well.
I like their romance and relationship, its the cutesy sweet sort that doesn't add to the book but doesn't take away either. Curious and interested to see where this goes with the new high Priestess.
An extraordinarily entertaining series. A great cast of characters any fantastic supernatural world. This author writes several series that are all based in the same world and allocation characters will interact with each other‘s locations and each other. A supernatural cozy mystery type series that will entertain you Check them all out you will not be disappointed
Emma is pregnant and suffering from morning sickness. She has her first appointment to check on the baby. While investigating Angel dust found by a young man, Emma starts reliving the day over and over again. Who has cursed her? Why? How to remove the curse? All these questions are investigated. Loving Gareth's excitement to the news of Emma pregnancy. Everyone is so excited with her news. Can't wait for the next book.
Annabel Chase writes very humorous series. I have read each of the books in this series and laugh my way through each book. Emma Hart has her hands full this time living her own version of Ground Hog's Day. Unfortunately for Emma, she needs to break the spell as soon as possible since she is in the early stages of pregnancy. This book welcome back the regular cast of magical creatures and introduces a new Head Priestess to the coven school.
Gareth is really happy about her pregnancy and is already giving advice about things that need to be done.
Then there's the new High Priestess, Limpet, who demands to be called High Priestess and is ultra-nasty to Emma, referring to her as the sorceress who has infiltrated our coven.
Sedgeweck finds a dead body and this one is of an elderly elf. She also has a new client, accused of possession with intent of smuggling. It's something called 'angel dust' and it's dust actually given off by angels.
Then there's the repeating-day idea.
I really don't like the High Priestess as she seems to be on a power kick. The repeating-day idea is also a little outdated in my opinion. Not the best book in the series.
I'm a sucker for a good series & this one always delivers. Our favorite sorceress attorney at law has a new client to defend and a baby on board to slow her down. Between constant bouts of nausea, Emma finds herself stuck in a day, repeating it over and over while trying to find out who, why, and when. She also has time to work on playing matchmaker, saving her client from prison and from losing his job, and attempting to keep a low profile from the new head mistress at ASS academy. Annabel keeps up so well with making sure that all the characters In the series stay relevant, interesting and involved. Another win in this series!
I love the character/ town development in these books, but this book felt lazy. The main character is stuck in a time loop and repeats the same day. The entire story of the day is repeated almost word for word twice before the day changes. There was no nice wrap up at the end like in her previous stories. And I don't know, getting pregnant within a couple months of getting married feels so cliche. I still want to know more about Emma's birth mom, she hinted at a new romance with Darcy and Alex, but never went back to it. And we know Agnes would hate the new coven leader, but the author has yet to bring this up. I miss Agnes! And what about the warden of the West!?
I love these books and I was so excited to see this one. Now I'm sad because it's over. This was a little different from the other Spellbound mysteries in that Emma is a. pregnant and b. trapped in a time loop forcing her to relive the same day over and over. All the favorite characters here even if they only have a very small role in this book. And we glimpse a potential new romance on the horizon for Alex and Darcy in a future book. Mostly we discover that news of Emma's pregnancy is happy for everyone. I can hardly wait for the next book. You rock Annabel Chase!
Spellbound's border gas been open now and things are changing Emma has a new client this time her client is accused of smuggling angel dust But Emma has another problem she keeps reliving the same day...is it a deja vu curse? What happens to Emma during this deja vu day? You will have to read the book to find out A lot of suspense as Emma struggles to get out of the curse...
.. Emma starts to look into a case of angel dust smuggling, convinced, as always, that her client is innocent. When she has a serious case of déjà vu initially she believes that she's just dreamt about the day before it happens but as she keeps reliving it she starts to alter her actions more and more drastically trying desperately to break free.
Can she escape or is she fated to remain in her own Punxsatawney hell?
Annabel, I want you to know that you are in the top ten of my favorite authors. Your books are always well written without any of those glaring language mistakes that totally crash a story and make me rant for a minute or more about spelling or what the word means. I even have a Word sheet to track your books and the ones I have read and what new ones are coming out. Just good stories.
More fun and mayhem from Emma and the Spellbound crew. After making up my mind not to like the newcomer to the Coven I find myself liking her - I think! Emma is caught in a time trap and starts to repeat her day. I liked how it unfolded despite groundhog day not being a favourite film of mine. Usual fun.
It seems Emma and Daniel are having a baby and everyone in town seems to want to be the helpers and baby sitters. Emma is defending a faun for smuggling, but the problem is that she is reliving her days so the smuggler can cover their tracks. And then there is the new High Priestess to deal with! Its going to be a long pregnancy.
I love getting reminders that a new book in this series is out. We have grown together in this series, when we first met she was a newbie 'witch' and she has grown into intelligent and funny sorceress. The love she has from her hubby, friends, and community make this series a well loved read.
This was amusing to read, even with minor repetition for the repeated days. Given the worry for the baby, it would have been nice to have a last exam to confirm their health but that's my only complaint. As usual this was a funny read. Still more subdued than previous books but I actually enjoyed that.
Love this series about the town of Spellbound after a curse is broken and the residents can leave the town and new people can move into the town. Emma Hart and her husband, Daniel Starr are expecting a baby and Gareth, the vampire ghost who lives with them is organizing her pregnancy.
I like the Spellbound series more than Ember Rose's adventures. Her positive viewpoint and nervous disposition are endearing, although I like Member's nerve. Chase manages to give a new twist to an old trope. I look forward to seeing the ongoing repercussions of this adventure in the next book.
A para mystery with a well written repeat of a wonderful array of colorful and vibrant characters drawing you in with intrigue and suspense pulling you further along into a plot that keeps you turning page after page. Acquire " Wands Upon A Time " today so you yourself can enjoy it. Kat
When Emma finds she's pregnant she and Daniel at over the moon, but when a smuggler of illegal animals and banned substance's puts a repeat hex on her to stop her catching him and Emma discovers that the hex could harm the baby all hell breaks loose. Great addition to the series with the usual magic mayhem and murder, Baz.
Emma discovers she is to be a mother. However mornlng sickness, a dwarf murdered, the coven being bossed by an outside Head Witch all become another challenge for Emma to sort. Onward into the next great problem. Loving Annabel Chase's writings.
Shades of the movie "Groundhog Day". Book 3 has death, mystery, humor, crime, morning sickness, and love. The citizens of Spellbound are still trying to adjust to open borders, and Emma gets a big surprise and relives the same day over and over again. And the witches get a new " High Preistess. Highly entertaining.
Another enjoyable read. I feel like it was fast paced though that could be just that Emma was hurrying everywhere. Interesting (Groundhog Day) repeat feel. Some possible new directions or relationships. I will enjoy seeing the next book published.
Emma's pregnancy is a barrel of fun. I enjoyed the groundhog day premise as well, didn't guess the villlain or catch the difference but was plaeased to go back and see it was there. Can't wait to see when the baby comes too
I’ve immensely enjoyed all of the books & series by this author. This one, with the repeating of the same day got a little tiresome. I Did enjoy the plot and the resolution of the issue.
Love this series. I can’t wait to see what the next book will offer. Will Emma give birth? What awaits Spellbound and the coven? Will Emma find her birth parents? And, what will become of Emma friends? Stay tuned!
All the books in this series are good, but this one is particularly good. It is very suspenseful. It's a real who done it. I already love all the characters and the unique world they exist in. But this storyline is the best so far.
