SCENTSIBILITY

Scentsibility is a journey back...through...and forward...in time. The glorious poems, in a thoughtfully curated collection, of varying genres of poems, from poets in every stage of their poetic journey, and from every corner of our Mother Earth, evoke and celebrate memories, with the underlying theme of scents, from the sweetness of newborn babes to the putrid stink of rotting death. One does not simply browse through these poems, from ancient traditional forms to collaborations of interpretative contemporary styles, free verse, classic sonnets and the experimental. They dwell within the magical pages of Scentsibility, and find themselves a willing captor...transported through time. A few poets recall their youth, with such vividness, that our nose is tickled by the warming smell of childhood favorite dishes. From the simplest of porridges, simmering atop a stove, from recipes passed from mother to daughter, lovingly shared with each spoonful. There are honey-sweetened to savory varieties perfumed with hand-ground spices. Again and again the scents of those aromatic heartwarming dishes continue to be celebrated in poems throughout. Scentsibility, as expected, offers gorgeous odes to the scents of nature, and the perfumed splendor of its blossoms. Poems highlight these scented luscious, every-hued, fanciful and vibrant, as evocative as strutting peacocks and dancing flamingos, to the grace and simple elegance, of soft and whispery miniature flowers and herbs, found in kitchen gardens, and small carefully-tended family plots. Scentsibility’s array of poems offers a generous sprinkling of love recollected and celebrated. Through the splendid imagery, from beginning to end, we not only are able to envision young men, bearing armfuls of flowers to their sweethearts, we can almost sense the prick, of a missed thorn, against a wrist, and smell the iron of a splash of blood upon a fragile petal. The collaborative poems, where the voices of lovers call to one another, are so rich and multi-layered that we practically hear the sweet treble of a woman’s gentle laughter and sniff the air for her lilac perfume. Her lover, as we imagine him, answers with throaty pleasure, in a haze of tobacco and musk. Ah...the scents of timeless love! Scentsibility takes us to places we can only dream of, through the magic and magnificence of each poet’s memorable contribution. Ayo Gutierrez is a TV personality, author, editor, and professional speaker. She authored several poetry books including Yearnings: Collected Poetry,and Evocare. She also co-authored Amazon’s bestselling motivational book entitled Almost is the Same as Never.

Ayo loves to read, write poetry, travel, and play the piano. She is a member of Toastmasters International and Zonta International.

Scentsibility awakens scents through lovely poetry styles.

Scentsibility is a wonderful poetry book embellished with a rich tapestry of the best poems, depicting different cultures, put together by different poets from across the globe in several unique literary fashions. Scentsibility fits the new era of poetry in my country, Nigeria.
Scentsibility would awaken your senses with its luscious poetry, causing you to savor its lovely poems penned by magnificent writers of all ages fervently.

indeed, every poem in this book is "scentsible". amazing anthology of great writers from all over the world. Kudos Ayo Gutierrez, GMGA Publishing and Pixel and Feathers Digital Services for this great venture.
