The Ten Commandments contain more than just a list of rules. In this unconventional look at one of the most familiar parts of the Bible, Peter Zelinski lovingly unpacks the biblical verses to find the richness of meaning that waits for any individual within this ancient text. Throughout his book, Zelinski explores topics such as the continuity between the commandments and Jesus, the difference between an idol and a false god (and why the difference matters), and the profound significance of the fact that the commandments were split between two tablets of stone. The commandments can be thought of as a map, Zelinski shows. The book reveals how the details and structure of the Ten Commandments chart spiritual principles that are basic to our lives, and also contain the steps in a progression aimed at drawing the heart nearer to God.

This book talks about the Ten Commandments are as unique as our hand. The first five are about loving God, and the second five are about loving man. Just like a hand, the is one unique command in each set of 5. Love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourselfe. He explores some relationship between them. I confess the author is my husband, but I think it is still a good book. Enjoy!
