I tried to get through this several times.Words were missing and there was pointless filler in there, general disappointment.

This book recounts 17 tragedies at sea from the 1700s to the present. While the stories themselves are thoroughly documented and portrayed clearly, the writing is poor. The author uses a European spellings and phrasing, which isn't a problem. But the editing missed many areas in which the wrong word is used, or in which words are left out of sentences, either muddling or changing meanings.
