This was published in 2000, I went in 2011.

It had every detail I needed; it was incredible.
While taking a 2-day train over from Guangzhou to Lhasa, I used this to plot my open-ended journey through the Himalayas.

I have no basis for comparision, but this fulfilled everything I needed for an impromptu exploration; even the location for post boxes were exactly the same.
