This is a nice overview of terms, action and thoughts about the volcano MT.ST. Helen's when it exploded in the 80's. The pictures give much more to the book for me as a beginner in Mt. St. Helen study, the writing seemed perhaps too technical for me, outside of talking about the personal effect of leaving vs not leaving of Mr. Harry R. Truman, which was my main take away to learn more of, the people of MT. St. Helen.

I am old enough to remember Mt. St. Helens exploding and the news coverage of it. My grandfather or uncle had this book when we went to visit them shortly thereafter. My stepfather saw me reading it and talked them into letting me take it home. There are many color pictures in this book as well as written sections.
