This was fantastic! I don’t want to give anything away because the ending was so unexpected, but it’s a must read! I really enjoy how Ms. Werner tells a story.

Salty-Revenge

Involved with a married man, she receives a warning that puts her secret lover’s intentions into question, and the decision she then makes.
“They say revenge is sweet, but in Charleston, it’s salty.”

One thing I can say after reading my second Hannah Werner book—I’m a fan of her writing.
‘When The Tides Change’ is a suspense-thriller in which a bitter desire to plot out revenge for a wrong done, seems to be the only answer.

The storytelling is amazing with twists and turns, I was engrossed and unable to put it down. I questioned what was happening but did not predict the outcome.

A definite page-turner that will make you wonder what makes some people tick. If you enjoy a psychological thriller, don’t miss out on this one!

Loved the setting. Caught on to some of the ending but not all of it. Definitely a fun read!

TL;DR: Despite some thoroughly unlikable characters, this book was fast-paced and had multiple twists to keep me intrigued the whole way through!

REVIEW:

I read Hannah Werner's other book, Floor 37, and really enjoyed that psychological thriller. I knew I wanted to check out her next book when I was able to!

I'm not going to get into much about the plot because I don't want to spoil anything, but I do recommend checking out trigger warnings. There are some aspects of this book that might not be for everyone: infidelity, violence, manipulation, toxic relationships, gaslighting, etc.

While I enjoyed the other book a bit more, I still blew through this one because it was fast-paced and highly intriguing. This author definitely has a talent for unwinding the knot of a plot she weaves in unexpected ways!

I think the main reason this fell a little more flat for me was due to the characters. While they were fleshed out on the page, I just found them unlikable. I know this was probably intentional, but I always struggle to fully connect with a book when I don't find many, if any, redeemable qualities in the characters I'm reading about. I'm also not a huge fan of reading about infidelity and toxic relationships, which was a big focus in this book. However, the puzzle you are trying to figure out while reading kept me returning to the pages.

If you are a fan of thrillers with lots of twists and turns, I think you would really enjoy this, along with her other book. Plus it's always great to support indie authors!
