John, the main character, is a recent graduate of law school who doesn't have a job, doesn't know if he passed the bar exam, recently broke up with his girlfriend, and isn't even welcome at his stepfather's house. He gets himself mixed up in a lawsuit between two cutting edge computer companies. A microchip has been developed by Schlau Enterprises, the computer company he ends up representing, and it is up to John to make sure that they rightfully end up with the chip. John later finds out why that chip is so important. The microchip is capable of analyzing a DNA strand and breaking it down for vital information, a major turning point for the world of medicine. The problem John then faces is to prove that there is a conspiracy, against Schlau's research lab, to keep this break through technology concealed. Throughout the book, John is attacked, wrongfully accused, becomes flat broke, falls in love, and discovers a side of humanity he thought he never had. This book will keep your eyes wide open, filling you with emotion and curiosity until the very last page.
