Inisghtful book as to how the immune system works, and how to keep your immune system healthy by what you eat (and what not to eat :).

How to avoid sickness (both short-term and chronic) by nutritionaly supporting your body. The best part is, it is tailored towards children, and there were some startling facts and information regarding nutrition and keeping your child healthy. I have taken many of the basic ideas from this book and incorporated them into our daily diet and have seen great improvements in our health.

For any parent with children (especially children who are sick a lot), or for any person in general who is interested in improving immune function through nutrition.

Out of all the things that are on parents' minds when raising children, nutrition and health are definitely at the forefront. Many parents are concerned that they are feeding their children the wrong foods, but in the heat of the moment, it is an easy option. Leo Galland does an excellent job of mapping out what foods your child's’ inner systems need depending on what stage of life they are at. Galland offers his expertise on immunology and helps parents navigate the scientific guide to health for their kids from infancy through adolescence. The most common and important nutritional problem that many kids in America face involves a deficiency of certain essential fats and the minerals required for their proper utilization in the body. The chapters progress not only with new information but what parents can do for their children in regards to this information. Gallard emphasizes that the key to raising healthy children with healthy immune systems, you must provide a supply of dietary omega-3 essential fatty acids, combined with minerals and vitamins. Other specifics that Gallard goes into include which break milk is best for your baby, nutrition advice for pregnant mothers, signs of nutritional deficiency, and much more. As we get older and go through changes, so do our bodies, and Gallard provides catered information to each step of adolescence. Overall, this book is an excellent overview of children's health and is very educational. I recommend you give it a read, whether you are a new parent or not!
Additionally, Gallards credibility is enhanced by the dozens of references in the back of the book. He goes very in-depth in every possible topic that he covers which is what makes this book so helpful. He also provides tons of kid-friendly recipes for snacks, desserts, and spreads-- some of which I will definitely try!

This book is packed full of good, well-researched information. How well I will be able to put it into practice, I am not so sure, but I'm going to try, at least to some extent! If nothing else, the information presented here is compelling and worth noting for sure. Although I didn't read the chapters on school-age and teen-age children, I will certainly keep it on hand as a useful reference for when that time comes, and for the present time as I am pregnant and raising 2 toddlers. Another thought - I wish there were a more updated version available...

I have to say that this book helped lead me to some major changes in our family's diet, such as the importance of Omega 3 oils, that were well ahead of their time. It helped me institute some changes that improved my children's and my health over the years, some of which we are still following. I've loaned this book to other mothers who have expressed concerns about their children's health, and they, too, have extolled its wisdom.

I wish I had bought this book when my kiddos were smaller. I learned so much about nutrition and wellness. I am happy there is still some things I can do to improve their health-and mine. I especially learned alot about EFAs. I didn't realize how important it so to health. I did skim through the chapters on pregnancy, newborn, and toddlers. I focused on school age and teens.

Great Information on EFAs, I wish I would have had this 5 years ago when I was searching for answers for my infant with rashes, excema, colic, constipation, etc...very helpful resource for little ones. Good explanation about the difference between Omega 3 and 6, food sensitivities. Helpful with supplements and amounts, but not all inclusive with meal plans and application.

Chase seems to have Supper immunity. I gave it four stars only because I don't follow it very closely, although I might unknowingly. I read it right around the time he started eating solids. There are some recipes in this book also. Although I have not tried them, at least yet.

To me, some of this information is just common sense. To others, this will be a light bulb moment. I did find some interesting things to change and add into our diet. Overall, it was a great book.

A must-have for parents. I find myself referencing it a lot; great ideas and do-able recipes at the back for weaning from the other white drug, sugar.
