Talk about style! Ashley and I were invited to a cool costume party at the house of a famous mystery writer, Fiona O'Leary. We couldn't wait to hit the ballroom for the big 1920s dance contest. The whole flap started when Fiona's adored cat disappeared. And everyone thought our dog Clue "dunnit"! Ashley and I were sure our pooch was framed. But we'd have to prove it -- or Olsen and Olsen could end up Clue-less!
I love the double mystery involved in this book! At first I was like why is the mystery wrapping up so quickly in an expected way and it led to something even better! I loved the butler story line and that his name was Martin, like the one in the Parent Trap, although only his name is the same not the behavior in the story. I really like that these books have a couple of basic morals to the story that teach children how to behave/how to talk about their feelings instead of acting out in an irrational way like Patty in this book in particular. I enjoyed that at the end of the book she told her great grandmother about her feeling that she wanted to spend more time with her cat than her great granddaughter and they talked it out a bit and agreed to spend more time together. It's a nice quick read and really enjoyable.
The last one in this current batch from the library!
By the way, I hate how the girls treat Patty. Yeah maybe she's spoiled, but she takes them on all these cool vacations and the girls still talk about her behind her back and roll their eyes at her constantly. Some friends.
