The Bibleas request is for us to check ourselves to see if we are in the faith. aExamine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobatesa (2 Cor. 13: 5). There is a condition where Jesus will be in you. If it fails this condition, we are merely a goer but not a doer. After we have heard the gospel preached, no excuses are accepted that fault others for our mistake. I canat think of a better way to examine ourselves than with the doctrine of John. How many churches in the world could accept his preaching? Remember, he was the bridge to salvation. What he preached, the followers of Christ accepted. He died because he made clear how Herod would have to live if he served God. Of course he pricked the heart of Herodas and she killed him. A good test: Do you oppose the sugar-coated messages that tell us we can live in adultery and fornication? If you do, then the Bible also teaches to come out from among them and be ye separate. Letas examine ourselves and spend eternity with our Lord. Amen!
