Thomas Amo has been writing since he was a boy. His dream was always to write for the movies, television, theatre. In the late 1990's he began a career as a full time theatrical producer and while running his own theatre company began writing plays for the stage. In 2000 his first novel was published. It would be another decade before he published again. In August of 2012 he finished epic YA novel, "Forever ME." April 4, 2014 marked the release of his horror novel. "Midnight Never Ends."

Set in the 1920s, Silence is the love story of a famous director and farm girl Catherine. Tiege Cargill is a dead man walking, which he doesn't know. When his car crashes and he finds himself on Catherine's farm, he doesn't know that the very people he trusted are plotting his demise behind his back in order to inherit his wealth. Tiege and Catherine take a liking to one another. Tiege doesn't tell Catherine who he is, and Catherine falls in love with him. Their love seems to have a future, but there are people who'd rather see him dead, and they'd do anything to get the job done.
Silence was a great read from start to finish. I loved the 1920s atmosphere, I loved the sense of urgency the author has created. This is a fast paced read full of drama and great twists. The romance between Tiege and Catherine was well developed in that in demonstrated well the differences between rich and poor and all the troubles and misconceptions such a pair would encounter. An amazing and captivating read I can only recommend.
Tom Amo's novel SILENCE is a love story in more ways than one. Certainly the romance of Tiege and Catherine propels the story along, one of those great fantasy relationships that may not occur in real life but we really wish that they would. But there are other elements as well that prove that this is a work from the heart. Movies and filmmaking provide the framework of the novel and the passion for these subjects are projected throughout. The locale of Jolly Olde England itself (or at least its idealistic version)is obviously from the pen of an Anglophile of the highest order. Amo cares very much for his characters and their motivations, not shortchanging them in the least. Finally there is the love that can only come from a first novel, a deep desire to see a dream come true in print for the very first time. To complete the vision, I think SILENCE has the makings of a good film itself and could easily be adapted into a screenplay. The dream continues...
Let me start by saying I am a picky reader. So for Silence to keep my attention is a feat of its own. But to have me hooked from page one is something of a miracle. I read alot, often three books at once but with this one I could only read it and could not put it down. I read the entire book over a 48 hour period. It was full of twists and turns and the love scenes were amazing. The action had me turning pages so fast I got calluses! Amo's ability to describe the action was meticulous. This is Amo's freshman foray into fiction and it was amazing. Kudos to him for keeping me entertained and happy! I look forward reading more of his work!
