Fun – and learning – during Yuletide
Arizona author Andi Cann writes children’s books that share entertaining characters in interesting adventures, information about animals and nature, and learning skills guides – many of them in multiple language editions. In this book, one of her three volumes utilizing Christmas as a focus, she wisely teaches the art of counting.
Making learning into a story is a sure way to capture a child’s attention, and in this story Andi opens with ‘Papa Foxie is teaching his pups, Moxie and Roxie, how to count,’ and she invites the reader, ‘Count along as they learn their numbers!’ And with Christmas in mind, the Foxies learn 1 for reindeer, 2 Christmas trees, 3 snow people and so on, all numbers representing yuletide treasures. Following the numbers, there is a fine little set of quizzes for counting the images of Christmas on several pages.
Not only is the little book a fine way to teach numbers, but it also celebrates the season – enhanced by Andi excellent illustrations. This is an excellent stocking stuffer for small ones!

This is a fun book on counting. The text is fun and the illustrations are super.

very cute, i would ask for one thing ... in the back where they have pictures of items, they want u to count, i would give a page circle the ones we should find or amount we should find??! maybe u might miss one? or skip over it??! u know. enjoyable and colorful.
